I'm not that impressed by it to be honest, as a 'replica' it's miles away from the original. I know what they were trying to do but it just has too much of the modern stuff in it.
It's similar colours, proportions, has similar functionality but is deliberately made with modern studless pieces - I think it's fabulous.Seems to be triple VIP points at lego.com and in store at the moment. I think until 23 April, but don't hold me to that, because as usual their website is utterly rubbish at explaining the offer or showing any related small print.
There is also a freebie of a mini version of the Beetle that looks pretty cool, with purchases over £35.
Time for me to order Assembly Square, I think!

Makes me feel very old and bought back great memories of getting 8860 for Christmas when I was a child
Podie! Any chance of a group bulk buy on 42057, 42061 and 42063 to get this updated 8860 into the PH pockets? http://www.brothers-brick.com/2017/04/03/lego-tech...

Enjoyed the 8860 remake. I made the three models that it takes to make it and I was impressed with the details that are within them, it's been a long time since I built any of the smaller kits so it was good to see how they had come on.
I thought seeing as I was doing the remake I should really build the original too so I dug it out the loft and put it together. It's amazing to see how much the instruction manuals have come on, they are so much harder to follow.

So, i get the 'cough' grandson a Getaway racer. First Lego model I've ever brought, and give it a trial build first only to find 1 grey bar about 50mm long missing!
Its the off side over head roll cage bar.
How do i go about finding a replacement, ebay?
Get in touch with Lego, they'll send you out a replacement, their customer service is great. Its the off side over head roll cage bar.

Blimey, that's an extra 20% off the already discounted from RRP prices. GT3 for £143.99 is a bit of a bargain, surely?Boydie88 said:
As has been said, I don't see how even with their buying power they're making any profit.
Has me tempted by the tractor and bucket wheel.
My bucket wheel is taking an age to build due to life getting in the way, but I've found it really enjoyable and tempting to buy another for the B model. Has me tempted by the tractor and bucket wheel.

Maybe this should be in the frivolous purchases thread!
