Sorting-wise, I put the small stuff in a bowl and the bigger stuff in a bigger bowl, that's as far as I go.
I used 3 dinner trays, perfect size for spreading the Lego. Makes it slightly more bearable trying to find a tiny part out of thousands.

I tip it all on the floor in one big pile. Half the fun is rummaging around searching for the right part, getting sore fingers, and the euphoria when you do actually find it. smile

I do tend to find the whole rummaging for bits process quite cathartic, just like building the sets as a whole.
I sort all my parts first paperbag
I bought a huge pile, and I do mean huge, it completely filled the boot of a Mondeo, of Lego a couple of years ago. There was a couple of useful Lego trays in it that I kept.

I end up sorting beams and panels by colour, then have a section with all the gears, shafts, etc in...

So Argos have a 3 for 2 offer on and apparently this includes the arocs. Its list price is £170 so if anyone is game it means that the end price is £113.... Anyone else?

Looks like everyone else had the same idea. No arocs at any Argos within a 20mile radius! Dammit

Just checked, out of stock for delivery, however is showing as available 'From tomorrow if ordered now' 15 miles away...

Hoping that includes three of them. Slomax, AlexFR - if you're 100% in, then I'll pull the trigger and get this done.

Just seen this!

If you havent already, fire away as far as I'm concerned! Assuming postage isn't going to be crazy! I had a quick look on parcel2go and think dpd was about £7 as a rough estimate on a 2-3 day service. If the combined comes in at 125 or less than I'm happy

I'm still up for it if we can get our Hans on them. I can only get 1 at a local store or for delivery sadly frown

Cool, drop me a pm with your postcodes, I'll get postage costs, and get them ordered (assuming it lets me get three...).

I'll keep you posted.

I read something online once that they deliberately stock these so that you cannot do what you are suggesting as easily as it sounds. They will limit each stores stock. Also do you really think they are out of stock for delivery but they can still supply the shops? It's pretty clever really

Surely if they didn't want you to do this they should just not include it in the offer...

I discussed this with Argos. If the toys that you want aren't all available at a single store then their suggestion was to, and I quote: take all of the receipts with you to the last store you visit and they will be happy to process the 3for2 for you. He went on to say: it's our standard policy for special offers, we don't want to penalise you because an item isn't available in a particular store. Might be worth considering that approach smile

I was thinking, it is good of them to do this, but it must be heavily open to abuse if they don't mark the receipts in some way.

Im in, ill have 1000 please. Let me know what postage costs are...

Great deals these, but they annoy me! £113 is significantly less than I pay direct from LEGO! These 3 for 2 deals just end up fueling a load of knobs who buy to sell on eBay and undercut all our prices for the next few weeks!
