Found this rather useful for keeping Lego sorted whilst building.

Ikea "Kuggis" container / Divider - £5. The only issue is that I had to get a set to test it out with but the Claas tractor is going nicely.
How many "Kuggis" trays do you have? It doesn't look very big, or seem to have enough compartments for a big set? I've got a stash of take-away curry plastic containers that I use for rebuilds and would like something more elegant, LOL!!!http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/0028020...

I bought half a dozen of these when I went to Ikea last: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/4004113...
The intention is to be able to spread the pieces out from each bag, not to sort them into individual compartments. Haven't actually used them yet though; the previous method of using random kitchen crockery still works fine

I am old school when it comes to builds, I empty the bags onto the floor and scrabble about for each part.
All these people who sort it into types of parts or colour or size are missing the point of Lego and also the time taken to sort it is the time you might save with the piles on the floor and scrabble about method.

That made me LOL! I need containers!! Although given how big some of the modern sets are now, I may as well do as you do!! I opened the Claas tractor and put the Part 1 parts into containers, but there was so many parts, the first 30%-50% of the build was spend swirling around in 10cm deep tubs for the right bits! All these people who sort it into types of parts or colour or size are missing the point of Lego and also the time taken to sort it is the time you might save with the piles on the floor and scrabble about method.
Wifey wants to rebuild the Tower of Othanac this Autumn.... I've no idea how we're going to sort 2,500 black pieces into anything that'll help the build :S

Sort the big plates out, that way you wont be looking endlessly for some small part that is hidden away underneath a plate. That is about the extent of the sorting i do with bigger builds, just to make sure everything is visible

I bought and built that one recently... Taken weeks of builds in tiny portions of an evening.Comes with 4 boxes of parts, the 1st has the engine and gearbox build, then 3 boxes of less interesting bodywork to do.
Good:
- It's huge.
- Looks reasonably accurate, with some nice details mimicking the real thing.
- It has the turning circle of a boat.
- Only 4 gears
- Can't see the engine moving!
Anyway, 7/10. Next year is the 40th birthday of Technic, so hope they do another 1/8 scale car, with a better powertrain and nicer colour!
Here it is with my other 2

Still in stock at John Lewis and still £199.99 as per the link I posted on 1 October.
I built mine (and thoroughly enjoyed doing so) a couple of months ago, and have recently taken it apart (and put it back into the correct boxes).I'm planning to sell this to donate the money to charity, so if anyone wants one of these and can't obtain one elsewhere, then send me a PM!
