I'll be there more or less all day as I will be helping set-up in the morning as well as helping out in various other areas. We get the school halls ready on Friday evening.

Would one be able to purchase built models? or is it mostly model kits that you have to build yourself?

The show is aimed at model builders so the traders who turn up will be generally selling model kits and/or kit and model building accessories. There will be plenty of finished kits on display on the various club stands - although it is unlikely that any will be for sale (although you never know).

Come along anyway. You might be inspired to have a go at building some kits yourself. I'll be on duty at the show so if you want a chat about model building, make yourself known to me.

Very enjoyable show. I did see you Eric a couple of times but each time you were deep in conversation with different people.

The quality of the completed builds on display ranged from 'extremely' good to 'oh my god I'm hanging up the airbrush' good. Lot's of very good traders with some extremely rare and hard to find kits for sale. Managed to pick up a very old Japanese 1/24th Otaki Celica LB2000GT widebody, box is a little dog eared but the model inside is totally mint. Quite chufed with that find as I really like the rarer kits. Molding is really quite crisp too, and opening the box I found it to be motorised!!.

Not sure what I'm gonna do with the 1/72nd Scale B-17G Flying Fortress I won in the tombola though... I really don't 'do' planes, Oh well, there is always a first time and it only cost £1 smile

ps. I say I don't do planes... but I did pick up a couple of 'Egg' plane kits too... So I guess I'm gonna start

Glad you enjoyed it. You should have just butted in and introduced yourself.

I came away with a 1/72 Space Shuttle - so I'm happy.

Just a note to let people know that the 2016 Modelfest is on tomorrow. Same venue as usual.

http://www.ipms-farnborough.co.uk/index.php?id=mod...

If anybody is in the Farnborough/Fleet/Camberley area tomorrow, please drop by.

The halls are fully booked with traders and model clubs so it should be very busy with lots of models on show and lots to spend your money on.

All proceeds go to a local hospice so it's all in a good cause.

I popped into this today. The level of some the models on display was mind blowing. Picked up a couple of bargains and could have spent a lot more. Didn't take any pics but the aircraft carrier in the top right corner of the main hall was something else - simply amazing!
