Ordered one two days ago through Amazon. Came home after work today to find it waiting on my desk. Brilliant. I'm going to be having some fun tomorrow.

Anyone else built one?

yes

Had one for Xmas. Works perfectly, but the electric motor that came with it(which is pre-assembled) is horribly noisy! Anyone else's the same?

What a shame that it does not actually fire up though. Hmmmmm wonder if a mini 4 cyl model engine is available cheaply? Probably not!

There are 2 versions (at least). The current ones aren't motorised and don't have a working distribtor/spark plugs. I'd try to get an old version off EBay - it's motorised and has got a proper distributor that work bulbs in the spark plugs, but you'll pay for it!

Hi, the V8 model is made by Revell. I can only find them on import from America. They're about £50 with £40-50 delivery!

I've emailed Revell UK, will let you know what I find out. I'd be interested in buying one, pref from a UK source.

...and thats for the non-motorised, no ignition version.

This is the one you want:

You get what you pay for!

These are the current engines:

http://www.revell.com/model-kits/engines/index.htm...

And here's the instructions for the current V-8 - half the features of the older version are omitted - it's not worth the effort.

Revell UK pointed me in this direction

http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/RV8883

But it would also appear to be sold out.
