How easy is it to swap transmitters? I have the pistol grip one and don't like it.
Can I get a stick controller and swap crystals or something?!
Bit behind on my knowledge.
Mine is the one a page or two ago - slightly random XSTR Pro brushless.
If you are swapping controller you can just swap coloured crystal over if you have the older 27mhz type. Can I get a stick controller and swap crystals or something?!

If you have the more recent 24mhz radio gear you can buy a handset and "pair/bind" it to your existing receiver.

Your car came with a 2.4Ghz transmitter. Theoretically any 2.4Ghz transmitter will bind but in reality they wont. If you are happy upgrading the car as you go along I would suggest buying a transmitter / receiver combo so that you know they will work correctly together. Something like this http://www.pit-bitz.com/product_info.php?cPath=37_... is the start point. personally I would start avoid and spend a little more on this one which has proven to be a lot more reliable http://www.pit-bitz.com/product_info.php?cPath=37_...Can I get a stick controller and swap crystals or something?!

How come 24mhz Transmitters/receivers don't bind as straight forward as they should? is it a bit like iPhone Bluetooth?

When the gear is switched on it handshakes with its bound partner (tx & RX) & chooses an unused channel.

As we're doing VLBs:
It's running a 9T EZ Run brushless. Wheelies on command - I had to build a better wheelie bar!
I've got about another 50 or so old school Tamiya R/Cs. Some working, some not, some in need of full resto. I don't get much time for them these days, and I need to sell some that don't get used. Currently working on a dual Sport-Tuned Clod and fixing my brushless DF-03 Avante 2001 rep.

OK, here's a few more. Some are quite old as I have too many to really give them all a decent go regularly. First World problems, eh!?

Yes, I did ad was told to reset the ESC, which you can't do according to the manual. It's 27mhz, but you'd expect better range than 5 meters! It does cut the power but obviously I'm still on it, back off but it's too late and bam. It was on the run up to the jump I'd just made too
It'll have to go to the manufactures now probably.
Ah not good. It'll have to go to the manufactures now probably.
Let us know how you get on.
Modelsport said to just send it back to them and they'll test and deal with the warranty replacement. They said they'll even change the broken chassis part (obviously if they find fault with the radio gear).
