They run at 4mph as standard.

Have been extracting he MDF dust using a vacuum as well as wearing a mask, nasty stuff.

Looking good.

How many hours thus far? All going smoothly presumably?

Was MDF recommended by the company as the build material or was it your choice?

Not sure how many hours so far - at a guess something like 20 or so, not including trips to buy stuff. It's going pretty smoothly, the plans are excellent. Some bits seem counter-intuitive until half a dozen steps later in the process when you suddenly twig why it's done like that.

The recommended timber is either MDF or marine ply. If you buy the pre-cut panels from the manufacturer they are supplied in MDF.

I've just completed the build of a Series 2 and trailer. I had a LOT of fun doing it! Good luck.

I've spent years trying to work out a cheaper way of doing something like this, and trying to get hold of a cheap electric scooter, but seeing this has tempted me to just bite the bullet and go for the whole kit for £900.

I have seen this before - absolutely brilliant. Our kids have a love of Land Rovers though so I feel the need to built one. However, I feel a 1/10 rock crawler might be easier to store and transport, and will never get 'grown out of'.

It had it's first outing yesterday. My daughter (and her pals) loved it!

As a project, I found it really interesting and had to teach myself skills I'd learned and forgotten years ago. I'd encourage anybody (who has some time they can spare...) to go ahead and build one. Richard, the chap who sells the plans/kits is very helpful and will point you in the right direction when you inevitably get confused or make cock-ups!

Have just got back into this, now that the temperature in the garage has got above zero hehe

First batch of metal components painted up, and starting to fill and sand the body ready for paint. Will post up some pics ASAP.
