Some friends came round today with their 3 year old son, so I used him as an excuse to get my old Scalextric set up. This Robbie head Megane was my favourite car back in the 90's when my Scalextric was last used.

The missus didn't want to get me tools this year, so got me some more track. So knocked up the below before new year up in the barn, but me and lilun settled on the final one today.

How do the digital cars fair over the crossovers and cross road sections I never liked the noise mine made when passing these sections.

I'm certain if you're running digital you can't use those crossovers. They never work with mine.
Edit: I run twin power supplies with the 6 car base, that's probably why.

Can't imagine why. Ultimately, a digital track is just one big single lane.

well had the job of baby sitting at weekend & what a great fun we had,is the jadlam SL 59 set payed £400 for about 8 months ago & never actually got the full set built until now, tried the F1 cars & they were well to quick for this circuit or im not skilled enough

hopefully a video if works

using 2 power packs as was using 6 cars but did struggle over back of the circuit near the wall but that may be due to por connections, which occurred in couple of areas but just used copper tape on joins & worked brillant

how much standard track I used to have never did get it completed but would of been fun powering it

Solder in power taps to send power to remote parts of your track.
With the 6 car base you can reduce power for cars, good for f1 or Slot-it.

We are using SSDC (Scalextric Sport Digital Console) on a laptop, the output runs up to the TV via VGA. Each of the six cars has a colour coded row of race data, but in this shot only one is active on track. www.ssdc.jackaments.com

The features are: -

Fuel (tank size, starting quantity, burn rate and load affected performance)
Automatic Yellow Flag
Pit lane speed limiter
Drive through/stop and go penalties
KERS
Mappable throttle curves
Intelligent pace cars

Timing is to 1/1000th of a second and displays last lap, best lap, total race time, total laps

Old school analogue four lane track @ Glym9 Garage. Still needs putting on a board to become a permanent fixture.smile

I appreciate it's a pretty old thread, but on Friday I set up my missus' two Scalextric sets. The Le Mans 24hr and the Ford Cosworth sets. Both of which I really wanted as a kid but never owned. Turns out she's had them in the loft all these years.

The track was pretty beaten up and the cars have seen better days (I appreciate I've not photographed the Le Mans cars) but these are the best 4 cars that I've got to muck about with.

Right, time to waste loads of cash on eBay on stuff I'll barely use but seems cool. The RS200 needs new elastic bands, it's currently only 2WD.
