Thanks for that. So the slot it chips work with scalextric bases? This is great but very expensive news as there are a number of 956's calling out to me...
Yes they do.
I've got 3 Slot it cars, they are awesome. Fortunately I didn't pay full price!
Excellent models and so so fast.

This is in the design phase as a potential digital track that will fit in my dining room mounted on a 10'x4.5'x4' L shaped table. Any suggestions for improvement welcome.

Looking good.

Will be having an evening with the boys soon so will get a few pics of mine, rather than just a load of boxes! If i have time i might dig out some of the classic light up track sections.

Must say that I hate e-bay which is a shame as Jadlam have a lot of good stuff on there that they don't sell on Amazon, where I get most of my stuff from.

That said I've just dropped Russ a PM with a list of goodies I worked out I need last night for a price biggrin

You know you want to! I'm sure if you put Russ's arm behind his back he'd let you have it for £400 (not sure if he'd throuw in the P&P for that though!)

I was all lined up to buy mine from him and then got dragged out to town and fell into Modelzone rather than put up with Chavmark - They had it on managers special for £400 so I picked it up there and then.

Yes you can. You will need a digital powerbase, hand controllers, a digital chip installed in each of the cars you want to use and, to make it worth it, a couple of lane changing pieces of track.

Yes will cost more than you've already paid to make it digital though unless you find a 2nd digital set on the bay to integrate it with.

Set up the rally stage today took all of 5 minutes, took 30 seconds for the mini to fly off and break the wing mirror doh!

So much fun, missus is gonna go bonkers when she gets in though as I slightly bent the truth on the size of it haha. That is after she accompanied me to the shop and I cleverly showed her a set at half the price before she left and the shop assistant stuck the cheaper one back for the one I bought.

Plan is to extend the track when she away on a girls weekend soon, so it goes all over the lounge and get the lads up.

Ultimate plan, for when we buy a house, is to make a stage with scenery and figures etc.

Now to ebay to look for some single seaters smile

Might be an idea to get some super-resistant cars for when your mates come round. That way you can just have fun with no worry about the cars getting bashed up too badly.

Thinking of getting the digital 6 car power base, more for the feature that I could race against other cars on my own but how does the unit control the other cars. I mean on a technical lay out would the ghost cars adjust speed for corners or just spin out.

The pace car function is just a set speed, you can adjust the speed by 1% increments. We bung another magnet in a pace car and crank the speed up, that way you are quicker on the straights but they fly round the bends. It's not a perfect system but you can have a bit of fun with it.

Was there not a pace car you could get that would learn your circuit, I seem to think there was.

On mine you do a lap with the pace car, and it remembers the throttle inputs. The theory is that in playback mode, it uses the same throttle inputs to reproduce your recorded lap. Works OK to a point, but it usually ends up getting out of sync because the car doesn't respond exactly the same on each lap, so it ends up in a position where it's getting a blast of full throttle for what should be a long straight, but the car is actually approaching a corner.

I'm not allowed to set mine up (so says SWMBO) and it's therefore stuck in the garage. Here's a photo of what's waiting for me.
