Norev is making decent stuff, hope they keep their prices at reasonable levels. They seem to be creeping up.

Minichamps continue to annoy me. Expensive and poor QC. furious

Had to send this back. Missing wiper and broken wheel. Expect better for £150.

Have however had a rather nice AutoArt E30 M3 in Jagermeister livery delivered. Makes up for my Minichamps grumbles.

Here's the new M3. Got a replacement CSL. Thankfully not broken.

That particular one is pretty noticeable in the photos, but less so in person.

Others are much less noticeable and smaller.

I've got the Kouros car (for far less than Exoto ask for these days - The general view is that they're just doing a stock clearance and shutting up shop these days).

If you just want a sealed shelfware model, Norev have announced they are releasing C9s this year - About 60 Euros.

I'll be getting a Le Mans winner Silver 61 to go with my Exoto.

I also have a couple of these

The Le Mans winner Group C car and a Castrol Livery IMSA Daytona car.

Exoto.com, but they're expensive (if still in stock) these days.

eBay's probably your best bet for affordable examples - ETA or possibly not - I think my Jaguars cost £120 new at most, none on eBay under £300 today! redface

A couple more images.

Are the engine covers actually clear like that, or is it clever photography on your part? They look very cool.

I think that's the miracle of Photoshop.

Thought so, very cleverly done though.

Yes, just two photos overlaid, one with and one without covers and then set the transparency on the closed image to about 50%.

So simple, yet the effect is fantastic!

I have the same AutoArt XJ13.
I always try and aim for AutoArt when buying.

Slight side note - I'm on the lookout for a sealed display cabinet.
Current one is acceptable, even more so considering it was free, but I'm getting tired of the endless dusting...
Items available on eBay, however, seem hideously expensive.
What set up does everyone have and what would you recommend to me?

Thanks in advance, Stuart.

The XJR's above have had me looking for some of those, now!

On the top shelf of the aforementioned, leaky, display cabinet is my XJ13 and Le Mans winning D Type (both AutoArt) -

Second shelf has my Bentley Speed 8 (Also a Le Mans winner and AutoArt), which is flanked by two Minichamps 1:43 (No.s 7 + 8)

Third shelf has a leaping Jaguar which was gifted to me by my father when he bought his Series 2 Daimler XJ and a Christopher Ward 'D Type' watch which my wife generously bought me -

And the bottom shelf were a well-bargained treat to myself from the NEC a few years ago. They are by HPI Racing, and I'd never heard of them prior to seeing these -

Next is the Le Mans winning C Type, when I find one I can justify buying.
Do excuse the shoddy photographs; it's been a long night...

Just found this thread and wow some gems out there, particularly like the BMW art car.

Now have my Uncle's mint Bugatti, but will auction it so I can swap out for something more modern. Cayman GT4, do they make one.... off to google....

Schuco make a Cayman GT4 - https://ck-modelcars.de/en/eur/p/31485/porsche-cay...

I suspect you'll get a lot more for the Bugatti than the Cayman will cost - A bit like the real thing! biggrin

cheers Marcos! Thanks for the link.
Just found that people add number plates too! So could replicate my car.... sadly not the Bugatti.

Hmmm, yes, the Bugatti is quite a model, and whilst that GT4 is nice, not quite the same, hadn't realized how special it was.

OK, have now found a GT4 by GT Spirit 1:18 in white! Ordered!

I buy alot of these cars for my brother here in Switzerland on www.ricardo.ch. Its the swiss equivalent of ebay and has all the random models you not expect such as spanish rally championship models. The prices are quite reasonable and he doesnt seem to complain as regards to the quality of the model even though the scale is smaller at 1/42. However the latest one i picked him up has yet to arrive, Jacques Villeneuves Peugeot 908 FAP 1/18. will see what that is like quality wise.
