I thought I would share an interesting part of my model collection. I have made it my mission to get a 1:43 model of each car that I have owned in real life, ideally as close in spec to the real one as possible.

so far been pretty successful and in some cases I have found an exact match, the only one I haven't found yet is my current BMW E90, but i'm still searching.

In order of ownership

Does anyone else share this obsession? lets see your pics of little versions of your big ones!

ETA: The big ones obviously aren't mine, just thought they'd be good to put in this thread.

I hope the door fit on the real one is better than on the model..............

You have given me an idea to spend some more money!

Start from the first car. Shouldn't be too hard to fine a middle of a blue Renault clio

I too have done this but only for my weekend toys rather than daily drivers. Where possible I've tried to buy the models in the same colours. The only model I've not found is the Westfield and I don't believe a C63 estate has ever been made.

The other half's sister thought she was being funny buying me this one for Christmas...

Glad i`m not the only sad one hehe
Yes i have a whole shelf of 1/43s fortunately some are the exact colour,
Sunbeam Stiletto green
Triumph 2500S Inca yellow had to paint the black vinyl roof
Lancia Beta HPE Silver
Escort RS2000 Signal yellow
Escort XR3 Sunburst Red had to fit front spots and fogs
Toyota Supra Silver
Toyota MR2 roadster Blue
Audi TT Misano Red
TVR Tuscan slightly darker blue

And some i have stripped down and resprayed nerd
Sierra XR4i from Red to Nimbus Grey
Fiesta XR2i from red to white
Ford Puma from Silver to Millie Yellow, changed the wheels to similar OZ Racing biggrin

Others incorrect colours
TVR Tamora Red should be Grey
TVR Chimaera Black should be Prowler Purple
Ford Fiesta ST Blue Zetec model slightly modded to look more like ST should be white
And finally the Wifes Tigra 1.8 Convertible Red should be Blue similar to Arden.

OP like the number plate touch, how did you get hold of them?

I'm sorry to say I share this obsession too - although in many cases I've not been that successful. Some of mine exist only as unfinished projects - one or two have been lying around for 20 years or more!

(I bet I'll never get round to figuring out how to make those black pinstripes for the Capri S.)

Minichamps and Hongwell both made Silver Pumas in 1/43.

Edit:

Minichamps also made them in Red, Black, Blue, Grey, Green, Purple and a Blue & White race livery.

Hongwell also made them in Red & Light Blue.
