So is there any thoughts re purchasing or doing a group buy of the limited edition 41999 (http://www.lego.com/en-us/technic/technicfan/blog/2013-1hy/exclusive-co-creation-model-41999/)?

I'm definitely buying it - just need to sort out from where / how....

I'm sure it's only available from the LEGO shop and it's limited to 20'000 units so a group buy or bulk order will nigh on be impossible.

I'm not that interested to be honest anyway, it's not different enough to the original Crawler to warrant buying again. Plus, since LEGO posted all the competition designs online it's easy to see what can be done with the chassis.

The extra PF features are cool and it does look awesome, but it's easily built with parts we already have or can get from Bricklink etc. I think they should have released the body on it's own as its own set to be compatible with the Crawler chassis as 70% of the set is exactly the same.

I will get one - race it against the crawler!

And hopefully prices will rocket in a year or 2...

I have spoken at length with my account manager about this and info for the UK market is very limited. Infact she wasnt aware of the product until I brought it up.

We therefore come to the conclusion (and considering the tiny production limit of 20k) that this product will more than likely be a LEGO exclusive.

However I wouldn't be surprised if somebody like Amazon didn't throw their weight round to get at least a few hundred as an exclusive for themselves.

Either way it looks very unlikely that we will be able to do anything via PH. I will however send off another email now to see If I can find out anymore.

Russ

Edit to add - I am told there are currently no plans to bring this item to the UK Market.

Saw it in the glasgow Lego shop. Looks interesting. Would have one over the standard crawler. It was £139.99.

Annoyingly its showing out of stock on the Lego site now - expected 22nd August, its ordered anyway - and I have the crane and recovery truck coming today anyway so they'll keep me busy for a bit.

I've ordered one too, pleasantly surprised by the price, I thought it would be higher.

Hopefully my standard crawler and crane should be at home when I get home.

Might keep my lego store order - see if unopened ones appreciate.

Having just received my group buy Crane and Recovery Truck and a Logging Truck unopened for the last 2 months I thought I will just have a quick brouse around the Lego shop yesterday.......... Then I saw 4 Ltd Edt Crawlers on the shelf and before the wife could give me that stare I was walking out of the shop with a huge yellow bag with two of them along with a Back to the Future De Lorean................argueand for that I had to endure a hour of Handbag shopping ............biglaugh
