Where was the 20% discount from if you don't mind me asking? I'm waiting on a decent discount to buy Slave 1!

Smyths have in previous years had a 20% off sale around October. I'm holding out in the hope of another before I get Slave 1.

On the back of this thread I went into Lego today and bought the Helicarrier. 😂
Can do that while waiting for sand crawler to turn up.
And I made a mistake it was only 10% on it not 20%.

I love this thread, proves im not the only 41 tear old child.

Question: does anybody have a clue why Lego doesn't have large military planes or anything of that sort in their collection?

I'm pretty sure I would buy a jumbo jet or an A380. I reckon it would be £600 easily though.

I am guessing it's a restriction to "modern military and war" as they do the Knights stuff as well as the Ninjago and other warlike themes. Oh and the Sopwith Camel(s).

When first launched they didn't even have any green or brown bricks to prevent any military use.

Honestly, I didn't know that. Thanks for the info!

So what's preventing a Concorde, InterCity 125 or a QE2 model then? I'd like to see Lego go for some real engineering legends as kits.

Great thread guys by the way.

Nothing is stopping them. They'd need to get the licenses but it's possible

I don't know why they haven't though, they could do but they haven't chosen to yet

Large Military Lego Planes - eeeerrr that's ME! I make kits of these with instructions and all the bricks...

Special rates for PH'ers - photo is actually from a PH customer!
Long may Lego NOT make them I say!
Seriously - I understand why they don't - kiddie's and all that.
They might be doing Concorde though - announcement in a few days.
