Anyone pick anything up?

I saw the Triple E container ship (something I've wanted for ages) discounted so couldn't resist getting that and using some of my VIP points.

Wife about to buy me my Christmas present of the Tumbler, shame it says out of stock when Cardiff Lego store had dozens and dozens a few weeks ago but hopefully it will arrive in time.

Managed to get a Sopwith Camel yesterday.

Purchased a Parisian Restaurant last Saturday at the PRE Black Friday VIP event.

Not had a chance to build it yet though, still sorting all the bits for my bricklink store into containers so there is no room at all on the table to build it yet, same for Santas Workshop.

Im presuming 10179 cost you an arm, leg, and maybe a testicle?

High on my wishlist!
Spill it Kittens! How much was 10179!?

Just some Christmas present purchases for me over the weekend, couple of Minecraft sets and snook in Ghostbusters for myself.

Based on the mark-ups I have been hearing of at brick, around £15k-£20k, lol.

Could be anything from £2k-£5k depending on condition.

I Googled 10179 when I saw the post.

Some of prices being quoted on fleabay & amazon were quite mind blowing.

10179 was expensive but the lowest I'd ever seen it, I managed to get it for £2k. Condition is excellent, the outer box has minimal signs of wear, the inner boxes are present as are the regular stickers, shiny sticker and certificate.

Is it a used one? As you mention bits inside being there, which you would sure hope are there if you buy a sealed one, lol.

I thought the edges looked like they had been opened before.

I know of one for sale but I believe it is still sealed so a fair bit more than £2k.

I saw a picture of Brick 2014 where they had one of these in a scene, I think it is after Han blasts Greedo, looked really impressive as the 10179 is massive.

Should be it, very nice. I hope you have a large display area for it.

I saw that display at Brick, it was very impressive. In fact most of the models there were awesome, Peter Reid's space theme displays were a particular stand out for me. There were also some not so good models too that I wouldn't have deemed show worthy. I should have taken some pictures but there were so many people there it was hard enough just to get in to see the models, let alone having room to get a camera out to take a decent photo.

As for having room to display 10179, I'll make room :-)

Slave 1 was bigger than I expected.

The DO is pretty tiny inside the buildings, be a nightmare getting your hand in if something falls off inside.

The two stands that really stood out for me were:

1). The history of London (detailed in the issue of Brick magazing for sale.

2). The one by the wall opposite side from the entrance (with the steam and underwater section). I think it was called "Abyss". It had a steampunk theme and was amazing.

Does anyone have any links to online build blogs etc. where I can look at the details. Its almost impossible to take it all in at the shows.

When you build it, is there any chance you can put some build pics and info up on here. I think it's high on most of our wish-lists, but sadly out of reach to most. Would love to see some different build pics and things if possible. We can all live our wishes through you! smile

I heard a rumour (possibly on here) that Lego are doing a re-release UCS Flacon in future, I doubt it will be anything like 10179 though, sadly.

I was given the Maersk EEE its my first bit of lego for years and year - fairly repetitive build but results in a fairly nice model at the end.

Looks ace, mine arrived yesterday, always amazed with Lego shipping, comes very quickly considering I didn't order until about 16:30 on Friday.

Holding off on building it as it may be my stand in reserve present. My wife did order the Tumbler as my christmas present but not until it went out of stock. Estimated shipping on the 22nd so its going to be tight for the big day. smile

No problem, fella, I was planning to do something like that anyway. Sadly though, the missus bought it as my Christmas present so we all have to wait a few weeks.

It's sat on the floor in my lego construction room, taunting me every day when I go in to open my lego advent calendars.
