Picked these up today, didn't realise they had been released.

They haven't been released yet technically.

I was in Toys r Us earlier today looking at the vast array of Lego that they now stock.

Noticed that they had the Lego Architecture Sydney Opera House n the shelf.

Priced at a mere £279.99......

Credit card stayed in my wallet however I was tempted.

It looks superb. Anyone built it?

Local toy shop had three boxes; they did say that they weren't officially released until next year.

I have no idea how they had them so early.

They are often sent them 15th onwards, the box will probably have a sticker on top saying don't put on the shelf till 1st Jan '15.

Might pop in the LEGO store later to get some empty boxes (good size and strength for bits on bricklink) and get the 3rd issue of Blocks from WHSmiths as well.

Well that price is a total ripoff. Its £250 at Lego -

The model is excellent, a really good build. The base goes together in two sections then the 'houses' are built and added. The only downside (except the price) is that it needs a lot of space to display. I have had to dismantle and pack it back into the box for a while.

I built it last year, one of the best builds I've done. I highly recommend it.

We had a Chima and Creator day yesterday.

Nipper got three Chima sets, and is showing how well he can build 'on his own' (little bits of help usually correcting mirroring errors). Lass got the Creator Beachside House, which is officially better than Friends as 'it's not all pink'.

Result.

Hi there,

Somebody on here asked me to to do a build log of 10179 Millennium Falcon, so here's the first part. I've never done a build log of anything before so please let me know if there's anything specific you'd like to see or know.

So here it is, although it has been in the house for several weeks I haven't been allowed to do anything other than look at the box until yesterday.

5.195 pieces (I hope!!) all nicely bagged up.

314 page A3 instruction book, stickers, certificate & letter.

The fun begins, the photos don't really portray the massive amount of parts. The seller actually did a really good job of organising and bagging everything up.

It looks like the first stage is to build the internal structure

To be continued....

Halfway through the Cargo Plane build and there are a LOT of parts but I think there's one missing already. The parts seem strewn across all the bags so far as there isn't one I haven't opened which seems very disorganised. Also increases the potential for a lost piece somewhere. It's an 'all-in-one' build, no stage one then stage 2 which doesn't help./

An "old school" build then.

I completed the internal structure late last night / wee hours of this morning.

Next up is, uhh... whatever this bit is, I'm sure it'll become clear when I finish it later today.

So, the next section is done, it turns out it attaches to the internal structure to form part of what I assume is going to be the rear of the Falcon.

Next up, this bit. I'm guessing it's going to be an upper rear section, which doesn't look like it'll take very long.

PS. This is my work area, who needs tubs! :-) I'm getting quite adept at remembering which pieces are in which bag.

It looks like I called it wrong, it attaches below the front of the internal structure.

Next up is the other side.
