Some minor detailing done.

Now to build 7 of these mothers, which are almost certainly going to be the landing gear.

Landing gear done and in position. The 7th must go at the front as and when it gets built.

Not shown in the pictures but this is where the 7th landing skid goes.

Engines done.

It's beginning to take shape now and get pretty big.

I'm guessing this is going to form part of the front.

Half of the front done with Han & Chewie to try to give an idea of scale.

Now on to the other side.

Amazing kit that Falcon.

I've been helping the lad (5) with his Ninja Turtles stuff. A few little ones then shredders lair which was ok and today we finished the submarine which was a really fun build and has some nice features. Then a turtles robot and some non turtles stuff in the shape of a fire engine and a helicopter.
He's getting quite good but being 5 gets bored after an hour so we have to break up the build into stages otherwise I end up doing them.

Disney on Ice tomorrow so no lego time.

The frame is complete. It's getting a bit big now, there isn't much room left on my desk to work on.

Enjoy as always wanted a crack at this epic build. Hopefully one day they release another set of this size and quality.

I think they will do another USC Falcon. I'll buy 3 next time though ;-)

Second underside panel done.

I was hoping to get this finished today, but the number of pieces to go doesn't seem to be decreasing.

Two "things" that go in front of the landing skids.

At this point the manual shows the model upside-down, so I attempted to do just that. Whatever i'd picked it up by gave way and the whole thing crashed back down onto the desk but luckily the damage was easily repairable, it could have been worse. Note to self: Don't do that again!!

After fixing it, I did what I should have done in the first place and pulled it to the edge of desk and got on the floor.

FYI: It's a slow build day today, red wine is hampering motor functions.

I'm about half way through the Tumbler, really fun build. Probably the most complicated I've ever done as I've only ever had small sets.

When building these big sets are any of you ever tempted to glue them? I just wondered as I'd never disassemble anything like the falcon once built and worry about breaking bits off and never finding whereitwent on in the first place?
