When building these big sets are any of you ever tempted to glue them? I just wondered as I'd never disassemble anything like the falcon once built and worry about breaking bits off and never finding whereitwent on in the first place?
Never! If it breaks, it breaks and it has done when I dropped it yesterday. You just curse profusely, then suck it up and figure out how to put it back together.

Why on earth would you do that? Every Lego set is intended to be taken apart, rebuilt differently etc. I know Lego do glue the models at Legoland, but my sets don't live outdoors and I don't have two million visitors looking at them every year.

If you were to glue them, take care that the adhesive you use doesn't react badly with the ABS plastic.

Legoland use a special non-reactive glue but the fumes are toxic so they use an extraction fan/Vacuum pump thingy when building the models.

Not build logs, but here are my latest Lego creations.

Looking at getting R2 D2 next after this.

Personally I wouldn't bother with R2D2. I wasted £150 on it thinking that it would be a worth it.

It isn't.

The sodding thing just sits on the table. Doing nothing. Adding naff all to my Lego collection.

A poor, dull & unexciting build. IMO.

I detest it & consider it to be the worst Lego kit that I have ever built.

I know that most people would dis-agree with me however its just how I feel about it.

Wish I had bought Tower Bridge instead.

This did cross my mind this morning when my Creator Sopwith Camel fell of the top of our shelving unit and smashed to pieces banghead

On the plus side, it gives me an excuse to to dig the box out and play at rebuilding it rolleyes

I thought R2D2 was a great build and also looks awesome when finished. For me, it was well worth it. What's with the hatred?

I just don't like R2D2.

I know that i am in a minority of one however it just annoys me.

All of my other Technic kits do something.

R2 doesn't. The thing just sits on the table. Looking at me.

I can't explain why I don't like R2. I just don't like it.

It's because you dropped it down the stairs.

I'm about to start the Arkham Asylum for my little lad, he's going to do the Hulk Smash Lab.

Not just you I was considering the sopwith when I bought the r2d2 and after 5 hours of building the same white circle it gets a bit tedious and I just wished it would finally be over.

Tell him to save up his pocket money, then when he's 30 he might get enough, lol.
