Must admit you lot are responsible for me buying a couple of tumblers...yes thats right TWO! I built one and will save the other for a rainy day. Great model but a little delicate.
I read somewhere they're going to be re-releasing the Falcon, any one of you guys know if thats true or just wishful thinking?

I believe that there is currently a re run of the falcon that's available now, which is a re run of a previous model. I haven't heard anything about a 3rd. I read somewhere they're going to be re-releasing the Falcon, any one of you guys know if thats true or just wishful thinking?

Sainsburys have a good offer on the new minifigs. 2 for £3.
Only if you can find one that's had them delivered, which is none round here unfortunately. Buy them while you can as they will stop the offer when they realise that's the price they were clearing out series 12 for rather than what they should charge for series 13.

I thought they might have got it wrong. Going to go hover up a few more tomorrow, Buy them while you can as they will stop the offer when they realise that's the price they were clearing out series 12 for rather than what they should charge for series 13.
My local Tesco had stacks of boxes of Series 13, maybe 6-8 boxes on the shelf. I was surprised as I only ever saw a handful of packets of series 12 on one single occasion.
Still pisses me off that £2.50 has become the regular price, although if you pay on the self service you can take advantage of 'buy one get one free' if you're that way inclined

FAO Bipolar Kittens,
it was I that asked if you'd do a build log, and can I say thank you very much, it looks absolutely amazing! So envious!
A real shame about the missing parts though and the fact that it made the latter part of the build a bit stressful, hopefully the seller will sort you out with spares without too much hassle.
I do hope they re-release this set, but something tells me they won't.
Thanks again for posting, I can at least look at the pics and dream!
Wonder how much it'd cost me to source the parts independantly to build it?

Thats been done a few times. Some parts are ultra rare and expensive so most people substitute in other cheaper parts. The printed pattern radar dish (~£60) can swap for non-printed, the two light gray ladder/mast things over the engines (~£80 x2) can be replaced with black and the small gray levers (£1 each x60) can be a gray base with black sticks. You basically have to give up on the legit UCS sticker, box and paper manual. It used to be possible to do this for about £600 but it is very time consuming buying over 5000 parts.Ash
Beware fake 10179 sets on ebay that are actually homemade kits like this one -
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lego-Star-Wars-10179-Ult...
It seems to have a real radar dish but wrong mast and levers at the back, and of course no box or manual.
If you spot one of these copies listed as a copy and going for ~£600 that could be the cheapest and easist option if you REALLY want it. I have seen someone trying to paint the masts for a better look but the paint flaked badly.
I guess its obvious I gave this some thought myself instead of buying a real one I am now waiting (fingers crossed) for a new UCS Falcon at a reasonable price, hopefully 2016.

I know of a sealed 10179 and also a matching star destroyer and deathstar II.
Let me know when you remortgage .
I got the 10188 DS1 recently, not as cool but I now need the DS2 less Let me know when you remortgage .
Also got the SSD so not really needing the older ISD. Never mind the lack of space to put a behemoth like that. I just made up a 10195 the other day, bigger than I expected. Finishing the previous gen MTT tonight.
If you forget how to count I will take the 10179 for £600
