Finally, the body is done, but, my God was it stressful! It almost went out of the window several times.

There was no building of new stuff tonight, it was all about taking stuff apart, adding a bit then putting it back together again and lots of fixing and re-fixing.

The back panel and the undercarriage were 2 particularly fragile parts, i must have had to re-attach them at least 8 times.

I'll start on the sides tomorrow, I do hope I have an easier time with those.

eBay/PayPal? It's too easy to manipulate, it doesn't even take any effort for a scammer.

Feel for you chap, having been done similarly but for much less money.

Left side done. The middle section was a pain, it was built up with lots of gaps to be filled in in later steps, which resulted in a lot of taking apart and putting back together again.

It's starting to make the Falcon look small.

Then while trying to figure out how it attaches to the body, this happened.

It's quite fragile and just sort of fell apart in my hands. It shouldn't take too long to fix. I don't know about the Falcon though, surprisingly there's no damage at the point of impact but a number of panels on the underside fell off.

I have to say, I usually find Lego quite an enjoyable and relaxing hobby but his has been quite the opposite. My day job is less stressful than this has been.

Wow! That AT AT looks amazing Bipolar Kittens. I'm looking forward to seeing it the finished beast.

I'm looking for some advice. It's not a PH 'what car', but a 'what set' question.
For my birthday last year I treated myself to the Parisian Restaurant and I am looking at which modular set to buy this year. It is down to the Pet Shop or the Detective Agency. I love think the Pet Shop will fit together with the Parisian Restaurant well and look good next to each other, but I am slightly put off by the lack of interior fixtures and fittings. The Detective Agency has an amazing interior, especially the barbershop and the pool hall, but I'm not so convinced that it will fit with the Parisian Restaurant.

As it is such a big purchase I don't want to make a mistake. If any PH Lego addicts have these sets already could you please let me know your opinions so I can try and decide.
The only other sets I plan to buy this year are the Porsche 918 to go with my P1 and La Ferrari. I also want to get the F40 to sit next to the Mini Cooper and VW Camper.

Funnily enough I had a similar dilemma Roscoe - my girlfriend bought me the Parisian Restaurant for my birthday last April and this year she wanted to get me something similar. The Detective Agency was the obvious choice since it's the new release, but the Pet Shop is likely to cease production soon so that's what I asked for (and I know she has got, even though I have to wait three weeks still). I can always get the Detective Agency next year, but buying these sets once they're no longer available new can get very expensive.

Pet Shop, Dectectives Office should still be around next year, the Pet Shop, not so much.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm not too bothered about being a completest as the Parisian Restaurant is my only modular. I am more interested in the aesthetics of how the sets look next to each other.

Aesthetically, the detective's office looks to me almost like the beginning of a different, slightly more cartoonish, series of sets. I'd definitely favour the pet shop on that basis as well.

Thanks! I have all 3 modulars next to each other in my display, I think they all look just as good from the outside.

After spending all morning fixing the Falcon as it was far more damaged than i initially thought last night, I've finally managed to fit the left side without the bloody thing disintegrating.

On a side note, 3 parts went missing after last nights incident, erased from existence it seems, they are nowhere to be found. As a result, Benny's Spaceship is now 3 parts down.

I know quite a few people have ordered 2 to they can make the Detectives Office bigger.

Since the restaurant, they seem to have added more detail but kept shrinking the building to meet the same price point.

The Parisian Restaurant does seem to be a high point, which is mildly annoying because it's the first modular I've had. I've not got the space to display them all anyway; though I do like my mini-modulars and I hope they come out with a second of those for the modulars released since the first.

The million dollar question has to be which set do you prefer, the Pet Shop or the Detective Agency and what are your reasons behind your choice?

Sorry for all the questions.

Personally I think the Detective Agency has a better interior, the Pet shop is possibly a more interesting build, its also more flexible as the two buildings are totally separate.

Some interior pics, first the pet shop:

House, 2'nd floor being redecorated:

Parisian restaurant for comparison, with additional mini-figs:

I will get some pics of the Detective Agency later.
