I ordered the Sand Crawler for my birthday as it's the current big Star Wars set I don't have. Trouble is, my birthday isn't until the end of July, so it's going to be sat there for ages before I can build it! laugh

I wonder when the Sand Crawler finsihes what set they'll do next, they always seem to have 3000+ piece set, I rekcon they should do a proper UCS AT-AT, I can't think of anything they haven't done that would be that big to need 3000+ pieces. Home One perhaps? Though the curves would be a nightmare to model!

Some kind of Hoth scene is coming out towards the end of the year, no idea how big it will be though.

But F40 first.

I suspect it's for the duration of the Star Wars reductions (which is until 9th May) - there was previously a banner at the top of the page saying that there was a limited number of Death Stars available at the reduced price.

You can still get them in some stores.

I want the Death Star however not too long before the F40 hits the shops.

Cannot afford both so one has to wait (Death Star) & one (F40) needs to be bought.

I would buy the Death Star asap if I were you... Their are rumours flying around the Lego forums that it has finally retired ....

Even if it hasn't and has just been temporarily removed from the Lego store it's days must be numbered...

Is there a date yet for the f40? I've had to limit myself to just getting the vehicles and sold all my ucs models. I'd never stop buying otherwise!

LEGO have offered me the Death Star again at the sale price (but ive bought the UCS Tie Fighter in the mean time).

Do we think the Death Star will become a reasonable investment? Im tempted to have both, but in that case the DS can stay in the box.
Yes it will be a very good investment if you keep it long enough.... The UCS Super Star Destroyer is now fetching upwards of £600...

Investing in Lego is better than putting money in the bank !

At what price did they offer the DS too you & how do yo get such offers?

Don't get any offer such as this.

I can't find a DS anywhere for under £300.00 - if I spent that much on one Lego kit swmbo would more than likely make me homeless!

I seem to remember that the article I read about the F40 suggested it was a "Summer" release but was no more exact than that.

I'm not sure how much help it is but the Mini Cooper kit that was released last year came out around 3rd week of July. I only remember that because it was just before my wife's birthday and I wasn't sure it was going to be delivered in in time. Whether there are certain seasonal release dates and the F40 follows that, I don't know....

I ordered the DS during the Star Wars sale (€377 or about £270 give or take). I got an email a day later saying there was a problem with the order and they couldnt honour it (out of stock at a guess), so I bought the new UCS Tie-Fighter to console myself.

Then I got another email from customer services this morning saying I could have the DS at the sale price if I wanted it. So thats ordered as well now.

Still, I should have about 600+ VIP points on my account now, which will subsidise something else soon I am sure. hehe
You may have missed the boat - they had it on offer for May the Fourth (be with you) for £247 I believe vs normal retail of £275.

I bought it a while back whilst Smyths had 20% off everything, so nabbed at £220. Just kicking myself for not getting the Sandcrawler at the same time - and double kicking myself for not buying the SSD.

Was at Legoland at the weekend and the UCS Tie fighted and Red 5 look great.

The part I'm waiting for to continue with the AT-AT still hasn't arrived yet, it's been a week if not longer :-(

If it's not here tomorrow I'm going to dismantle a modular building. I need this off the production line before the UCS Tie Fighter comes

Sounds like mid July for the F40.

My UCS TIE Fighter turned up today with a poster and limited edition mini figure.

If the box is anything to go by - the finished TIE Fighter will be massive !

It was much bigger than I expected but I thought it looked like quite a dull build with those vast wing areas.
