Non Technic LEGO

I think there are some clever touches and techniques to get the car to look as close as it does. I wouldn't have expected a fully rendered or working engine anyway. MY only real disappointment is the rather large number of stickers it appears to have.
I agree the number of stickers is a shame (they form things like the pop-up headlights as well, so there are more than apparent on first glance). Not sure about the cleverness though. They have moulded some new parts specifically for this (the windscreen and the wheels) which aren't particularly clever.
Well I like it! It looks like an F40 made out of lego, not sure what people were expecting?
Maybe it's just the wrong type of car to turn into a lego kit, both the Mini and the Camper are fairly 'chunky' vehicles so work better than a relatively low slung sports car shape.
I'll be getting it anyway!

Is it just me or is the designer in the video really twitchy.
I knew it would end up as a stickerfest speed champions style.
It looks pretty good at certain angles, but they should have really pushed the boat out with a £90-£100 price range.
Really need to see one next to the camper and mini to gauge size.

LOL! And just how much do you think Ferrari have demanded to be creamed off the top for licencing!?I knew it would end up as a stickerfest speed champions style.

That explains the cost.
Considering the size of the Mini Cooper and VW T1 I do not know why people are disappointed in the size. Personally I think that it looks great. I like that the engine is removable and that the lights pop-up. It will fit in well with what Lego have already release. I'm hoping that the next set in the series will be a Citroen DS.

I'm on book four of the Unimog and it occurred to me that if Lego produce a DS with fully functioning hydraulic suspension and swivelling headlights they can take all of my money.I'm liking the F40; I don't see too many stickers, certainly not like some other kits (Le Mans racer?). The biggest thing for me is proportion - the Mini and Campervan seem to be a bit off in places, the F40 looks spot on. Also the UK site are showing a price of £69.99, with more pieces than the Mini. I'm thinking of getting one, as I've been itching for a display piece of Lego; the Technic Volvo is lovely but too big; and the Mini/ 'van never quite did it for me. Will see how I feel come August.
I actually rather love the F40 model. I like the fact it's a bit basic and blocky - as someone mentioned it really does look like a Lego model from a decade ago, and that adds a certain charm for me. There's no doubt some of the more current sets are fantastic for all their new unique pieces, but this set for me looks a bit more classic Lego in appearance. I want!
