Ecto-1 will fit inside too apparently (according to Lego themselves on facebook).

Looks fantastic on the outside, no pictures of the inside yet. The price though...

Just finished helping my son build some Lego city vehicles for his birthday, to be honest I'm a little disappointed in them.

I recall when I had Lego cars and truck 30+ years ago they had opening doors and it was quite possible to put the figure in to the vehicle without having to take the thing apart. Just seems a bit of a cop out nowadays , just brick the figure in / out and there you go.

Yeah the doors were a J shape when viewed from the top and swivelled around a stud, remember them clearly. There were single and double height ones.

The blue car on the truck clearly has those doors - but the sides of the windscreen piece extend back further these days so they're less useful than they could be.

4634 pieces, so one of the biggest ever sets (I know that lots of them will be small floor tiles and 1x1 bricks!), so comparable pricing to Tower Bridge and most of the Modular Buildings, and not bad at all compared to Sydney Opera House!

Looks like I'll be at Brick in the morning ready for VIP entry smile
Never been before and taking the 6 year old. He's determined to come away with Lego Dimensions for the Xbox and atleast one more Minecraft set.

I'll be near the venue tomorrow but no ticket. Friday and Saturday for Volunteering then have a walk round on Sunday.

yikes

Not that I can see that stopping me, especially as I have already got Ecto 1...

That's the thing - I wouldn't normally consider a £275 Lego set but Ecto 1 is probably my favourite ever set. And if I can use some VIP points...

That's in the unlikely event chaps like Russy are allowed to stock it...

Lego have played a very clever game. As interest and volumes have increased, supported by vendors, they've increased the 'exclusive' lines only they carry. Add in differential pricing for B&M stores versus online retailers, and it's a gamed market.

VIP Freebies:

I was so tempted by the Tower Bridge at £167.99 in the Toys R Us shop! Well worth the day out, it does get very busy the main of it about 1pm today, then it dies down a little bit but the VIP lounge is a happy escape for a hot drink and bit of quiet.

Lots of excellent stands and interesting stalls. Enjoyed having a look at the Base Ace platforms, never seem them before but in fairness they can give a different element to building and displaying, worth checking out. I think I'll be giving them a sale when we pop back in on Saturday to expand my lad's Minecraft World.

Bipolar Kittens might want to look away for this one though...

LOL!

I imagine I'll be seeing it myself when Brick comes to London in December. Although I do hope to have mine done by then, I'm struggling with the head at the moment, it just doesn't want to play ball

I'll possibly be helping on the big mosaic again on Saturday.

I heard toys r us are shipping in another arctic full of Lego from down south. No wonder they were selling out of Tower Bridges so quickly, did you get a free Bricktober set as well with stuff from TRU.
