Picked up 2 out of the 4 from the Brick show, Toys R Us shop and the hotel.
They have connectors to fit them all together in a row.

Now would be a good time for an updated 10179 .....:-)
I really wish they would! smile Surely they'll need another really big UCS set soon, the only current one is the Sandcrawler. The fighters are nice, but not many pieces, so they need anoher 3000+ piece UCS set I reckon.

That Typhoon does look great, what sort of price do you reckon it will be slybynight?

Also, saw your planned QEC class aircraft carrier, looks good, I worked on the Mission Systems team for the real thing for 8 years, so would love to see it as something to buy. When HMS Queen Elizabeth was launched last year they gave away some very small sets (not official lego, some other company) of the ship and I managed to get hold of one (had left the team by then, so it took some begging). Quite good for what it is. It's very small.

I haven't totalled up the costs yet - I'm still short a few bricks for the run of 10. The main expense has been the 100 odd 1X2X3 arches down the sides of the fuselage. I'm not going to publicly say how much skin I've got in this game (Mrs Slybynight might pop in here :-0) but to give you an idea I had to part with £70 yesterday just to pay the import duty on 1 package from the US!! Heres a pic of the sort of volumes of bricks involved (for 10) - Its nearly all new bricks this time.

I'm guessing it'll end up somewhere between £300 - £500. There will be reductions offered for buyers of previous models.

Re The QE Class Carrier - Its one of the younger designers projects!! and he has to fit it in between maths homework and piano practice. He will be very pleased to hear that there is some demand for it. If people really want one I will try and chivvy him along a bit, I've never done a boat before, how much hull should be on it?? build whole hull or just to the waterline? more hull = more cost = higher final price. I have a friend who wants one who also worked on it - maybe you know him?

Those are cool. Just reserved the 4 at my local TrU!

In other news, since starting in late August, I've finally finished my F40. I need to write off as some of the black bonnet edging 2x1 bricks were grey not black and I don't have any spare so it looks a bit weird, but it is an utterly fantastic model. So many neat touches and details to the build. The engine really is fantastic.

Next? I've got the Pet Shop, Parisian Restaurant, Star Destroyer, Super Star Destroyer and Actros to build. More spare time please!

I've got no space for my Simpsons House at the moment so haven't built it. Need some time to build my Mini. I've also got a boxed Exo Suit and a 24 Hours Technic Race Car.

There's an awful lot of people on the job, but I may know him (PM me his name if you like).

Didn't realise that the Typhoon would be so expensive to be honest, but with the effort you've put in and sourcing of parts I should have realised! LOL

Yes - its a lot of money. - most of it the cost of the bricks - I used to buy more second hand, to keep costs down, but I'm hoping people wont mind spending a bit more for shiny bricks with no teeth marks! I'm not going to lie, I make a bit out of it (otherwise I'd just build 1 offs for myself) but when you work out the hourly rate for about 150 hours development, and 5 hours per kit packing and box building, it come to significantly less than minimum wage! Then of course you've got Palbays 14%.

I told my buddy when he wanted a QE carrier that I normally build from plans and blue prints, if he could get me some. He said, no worries, if he could get Secrets Act clearance, they should arrive at my house on about 20 pallets!

You can get quite a bit of stuff from the public domain so it shouldn't be too hard getting something, if you do get something "official" I'd keep it to yourself though...just in case! laugh

Is that your collection of sets which you haven't yet had time to build? Mine's growing faster than I can keep up with.

No, my sets are else where, they are mainly for sale at local LEGO shows I visit and some will be broken for parts, although I will probably build a couple as well.
