Also just managed to get hold of the Ecto-1. Had ordered it from Tesco but I've not heard anything about it and it's now showing as out of stock, ordered through Asda but just popped into toys r us and found one so got it jut in case, will probably end up with two now! Well chuffed, been meaning to get it for a while.

Star Wars advent calendar is on the shelf too, and hoping for a millennium falcon next! 😃

Yes - its a lot of money. - most of it the cost of the bricks - I used to buy more second hand, to keep costs down, but I'm hoping people wont mind spending a bit more for shiny bricks with no teeth marks! I'm not going to lie, I make a bit out of it (otherwise I'd just build 1 offs for myself) but when you work out the hourly rate for about 150 hours development, and 5 hours per kit packing and box building, it come to significantly less than minimum wage! Then of course you've got Palbays 14%.

I told my buddy when he wanted a QE carrier that I normally build from plans and blue prints, if he could get me some. He said, no worries, if he could get Secrets Act clearance, they should arrive at my house on about 20 pallets!
You can get quite a bit of stuff from the public domain so it shouldn't be too hard getting something, if you do get something "official" I'd keep it to yourself though...just in case! laugh
Can I add another request for a QEC please.
Ash - If you ever made it to building 550 in Bristol before 2006 I might have met you.

Nice, just need a few more MISB sets to fill the shelves, then an Eiffel tower on the floor in the middle.

After neglecting the Lego room for some time, I got my arse in gear today, tidied it somewhat, and invested another €50 in track so that I could finally complete the loop, for continuous train action! hehe

So two loops with one on each end (left side and right side of room), with sidings in side each loop and a triangular junction leading to the passenger station in the Highstreet. It all fits, just! The next large model will require more shelving though.

Left loop with the cargo siding:

Past the split at the Neon sign...

Which leads to the passenger terminal:

And down to the other loop around the SSD and SOH:

Wow

Surely a Vulcan would sell well considering it's just been grounded.

Is that your collection of sets which you haven't yet had time to build? Mine's growing faster than I can keep up with.
Think we're all in that place!

I got the mini modular buildings from TrU on the weekend and got them built - and very sweet they are too. Trying to track down the 2014 set now.

Also had a trip to a shopping centre, and the Lego shop. I wanted the little train you get at the moment, so the Detectives Agency and a few of the season little sets got added to the basket. The modular building looks the best yet.

:eta: surpprised the Back to the Future set is so sought after. I don't even think the Deloren looks that good. (but I'm smug - I've got one)

Hi MBBlat, yeah, I spent a bit of time down at 550, to meet with the AFUs that worked out of there. Particularly a very good mate of mine, who's since left civvie street to go back in the RN as a Hawk pilot.
I also seem to recall there was a chap in there who's son was a drummer for a well known band at the time too, you may know who I mean.

Has anybody built a bat pod yet? The boxed versions from the competition are silly money but I have a parts list and was mulling over building one for something a bit different

After my love of the bricktober TrU mini-modular buildings, it prompted be to pull the trigger on 10230 which was the VIP mini modular build set they made, which has mini versions of the Emporium and Firestation amongst others. I think I enjoy them more than the bigger counterparts!

just costing it out at the moment, I can get one complete for £145 which might be both cheaper & less of a ball ache that doing it myself. The shields & the wheels/tyres seem to be a significant part of the cost in that project

The wheels and tyres were about £11 each a while ago straight from LEGO.

The shields are around £40, someone ordered 6 from me a while ago and a few other bits that were clearly for a bat pod.

Been following this one since the beginning; it's grown to ~2000 bricks with the addition of internal tanks although without good access I can't see these making production. I still reckon it would be a ~£200 set (I'd happily pay this).

DAmn it, just seen some more pictures of the Ghostbusters fire house.

Now thinking it might be worth it, it looks brilliant.

The whole side hinges open, not lift-off-the-floors like the modulars!

http://comicbook.com/2015/11/11/step-inside-the-le...

I see that Ecto-1 is back in stock on shop.lego.com, by far the cheapest place to buy it now, everyone else has ratcheted it up already.
