've put bids in on a few items, a couple are already out bid but 6 still stand, probably wont win many/any but at least you'll get a bit extra for them.

They have some nice parts in, buying large amounts of bricks is surprisingly expensive, so breaking sets you get cheap can get you some interesting bits for a good price.

Always interesting opening up some random bags and sorting out what you get.
Mark, if you want a load of Ultra Agent Sets I am more than happy to shift on cheap....drop me an email.

Hi Russ,

I sent you an e-mail about the lego agents stuff, but the page threw up an error just after i sent it.

Could you let me know if you received anything.

Cheers

Rick

I've been working feverishly to clear the workbench before a new arrival tomorrow, but I need to get this from here:

All attempts thus far have ended in tears. I may have to enlist the help of Mrs BP, although I fear in doing so may result in divorce when she drops it.

Would it be easier with the legs on the floor?

Probably, but it has to be built in situ because I won't move again in one piece with the legs attached

Could you create a load bearing cradle (in say meccano?) to hold the body at the right height to mount the legs? It would also enable you to let the legs take the load gradually (with free hands) to see whether they will really take the weight, thus mitigating the risk of catastrophic structural failure, angry cross words with the wife and dinner for 1 on 25 December...

It really must be very frustrating, that thing looks absolutely stunning! I would make an exception in this case and Kragle the living s**t out of it!!

I'm trying to minimise the use of Kragle and only use it where it's really necessary, I don't want to cheat too much. Besides, it's been relegated once again for a few days. I collected a new model from the Post Office this evening which i'm eager to build!

I wrenched apart a few pieces that I kragled together 12 months ago. tbh I had written them off, but surprisingly, they were ok. I was expecting the plastic to be melted, but I think a bit of picking about with a spike to remove the residue and they will be fine. not mint mind. it was a cheap kragle bought from a pound shop, so maybe that helped?
Can't wait to see your new model ;-)

Ultra Agents was a complete flop. Clearing a load of it at the moment and have stock on Auction 1 piece at a time...have about 150pieces left so nearly all gone!

That would be my call - empty boxes, reams of paper etc... Something you can build build up and then tweak with a few bits of cardboard for the last few mm. Support it as you build but then easy to slide out afterwards.

Saturn V has hit 10k votes now:

Probably an expensive one but absolutely worth it; will sit really nicely with the Shuttle biggrin

Are there not some lego sympathetic PHers locally who wouldn't mind a: being sworn at and b: be happy to give up a few hours to help see this assembled and save Mrs BP the angst of the final push?

The trouble is picking it up from the top is the only stable way to lift it.

Sitting on boxes, etc won't work because they would need to be the same width as the under carriage and that is only 1 stud in width either side, which doesn't allow much room for slippage but then there would be no where for the feet to go because the boxes would be in the way

So, you need some sort of hoist. I am thinking:

1. Buy ALL the technic Lego and Mindstorms and build a robot to do it for you.
2. Video it
3. YouTube
4. Profit........

I don't have ALL of it but I have 1 Mindstorms and a lot of Technic, so it's theoretically do-able.

I reality though, it's probably not going to happen

Getting a server error on Jadlam racing Russ, I'm sure you likely already know. Are the black friday deals that good! I confess I hadn't looked until now.
