Hang them from the ceiling? Use fishing line and it should hold the weight?

I doubt they are heavy enough to do that!

Anyone got any shelving solutions to accommodate larger models? And by larger, I mean wider....?

I'm under orders from SWMBO to clear the desk in the "office" (i.e. smallest bedroom) which is currently home to my Red 5 X Wing, Millennium Falcon, Sopwith Camel and other small bits and pieces. Standard 25-30 cm shelves just aren't wide enough to fit the wings on the X Wing and Camel, and the room size/layout precludes a floor-standing unit.
Have a look at the Ikea Kallax range (used to be called Expedit).

I know some folk have managed to wall mount these but would require strong fixings.

I have 3 2x2 units in my office, 2 beech either side of a black and my Shield Helicarrier, Millennium Falcon and X-Wing (when it's built) will all sit on top of these with plenty depth.

I am going to put my T1 Campervan, Mini Cooper and F40 underneath and light with some LEDs for effect.

My Firehouse arrived yesterday. Its a massive box, biggest one to date for me. I had a look at the contents, but wont be able to start building until next week at least.

My latest set of purchases has arrived. I'm particularly pleased to have got hold of a sealed 7747 set. Sadly I won't be building any of this for a while as Mr Wooster Junior arrived just before Christmas and all my LEGO is now boxed up.

Top tip - thanks Mr Chimp!

With a big of rejigging, I might even be able to get away with floor-mounting the 4x1 unit and so do away with the faff of securing it to the wall. More investigation required!

I finished the Brick Bank last night,I must say of the seven modular models I have as much as I enjoyed building it I think it is the least inspirational with very little detail on the second floor and the third been a high roof with a chandler in it...!

On a different note how do you lot keep your models clean/dust free.?
I was taking a look at the bank at the Lego shop yesterday and thought it looked small and bland next to the cinema, detectives office, etc.

I think I'll be skipping it and buying the cinema and some 'extras' to make the cinema feel as polished as the latest sets (smooth tiled floor mostly)

I love this set - my girlfriend's folks live in Oude Wetering and they have a ferry the same colour there.

On a side note - I've been trying to get hold of some blue baseplates and I missed the fact that they had been withdrawn. They've gone from £6 to £20 on amazon and out of stock in most places.

I managed to get hold of a 4 from ebay and bricklink but took a while.

Anyone got a solution for trains? I've got the high speed train (still unbuilt) and just pulled the trigger on the cargo train that I couldn't resist for £97.97 off Amazon smile But I've not got anywhere for a permanent setup.

"Toy room" is full, Shelves in the 4th bedroom are too narrow to do anything with, don't want to put it on the floor anywhere, and I can't see swmbo being impressed with a huge layout on the dinner table...

We have a similar predicament. My daughter had the high speed train and the station sets for Christmas. They're currently set up on the dining room table but SWMBO's patience is wearing thin....

Current plan is to put the track on a board and slide it under daughter's wardrobe for storage.

I've got a bit of time as I haven't stated building the high speed train yet, and the cargo train won't arrive till next week. About to order the station too, need to think of something quick wobble
