It'll be a while before I go along, but there are some dimensions stated on Ikea's website. The blue ones are the biggest: 15 bags 6 l (28.5x41 cm) and 15 bags 4.5 l (27x34 cm).

Even the smaller of those is larger than A4 size so I'd expect the instructions to fit comfortably smile Though I tend to cut the plastic wrapping for the larger instruction manuals open with scissors so I can slide them back in afterwards, so I'd be more interested in using them to keep the pieces safe.
Excellent, thanks Jobbo. thumbup

Ash. Something like this may come in handy for what you need. use them in work and for when we have outdoor events, as long as the zip's sealed they do a good job of being water resistant.

Or from Ikea, which seems to be significantly cheaper (unsurprisingly): http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/search/?query=istad

I shall investigate these when I next go to Ikea.
The benefit being, I don't have to endure Ikea!

Prefer the Corvette to the Mustang, looks less rough around the edges.

Lego isn't Airfix, it's supposed to look rough at the edges!!!

I do get narked with the piece count in some of these sets where many of the pieces are either hidden or are to make the outer surface as smooth as the original model. How do you foster the child's imagination and inner eye if the model looks exactly like the orginal?

Can't wait to pick up a caterham. Adventure time is one of the most bizarre things on tv but my 3yr old loves it! Would love to know what the writers have been taking....

I think they're still high from college those lot. My lad loves it as well, we bought a few custom minifigs of Adventure Time from the Brick show last year. He plays with them on his Minecraft sets.

Not saying that this will be possible, but would anyone be interested in a potential group buy on the new lego speed champions sets?

If only you'd said earlier, these arrived yesterday... wink

Have the complete set of the first releases to put them with.

Just got all the Speed Champions stuff myself (plus a City Rally Car), gradually going to do 32x32 dioramas for each...

The R18 is a great little build and looks superb in my opinion. Need a steady hand though, something like 30 stickers!

I'm crossing my fingers for the Beagle and Land Cruiser in the next batch - although are they a bit too nerdy for a company that prefers a more mainstream product? frown

They approved the Caterham, it doesn't get more nerdy or niche than that. I'm sure the Land Cruiser in particular would be very popular.

Nice!

I picked up the rally car for my daughter recently and liked it enough to buy another for myself - it puts me in mind of the old Group B Metro 6R4 monster that I remember from years back.

Lego City has really found its stride, in my opinion. The 4x4 Off-Roader looks absolutely spot on as well.

I know that, but at least the Corvette used clear bricks for the rear quarter windows - mind you both sets need too many stickers really.
