Got the Mustang, really nice model, need to catch up with some of those as I only got the La Ferrari/P1/918 last time around.

Is the double points off still on? I thought it ended on the 22nd.

Double points is still going until the 22nd. Ordered all the Speed Champ sets (2nd releases) earlier in the month and used the £40 points saving against the Ghostbuster Firehouse smile

Hate this thread.

This thread is solely responsible for my Lego guitly pleasure. I have just ordered all 7 sets from the new Lego speed champions series, plus the 911 finish line from the previous series.

All on the 3 for 2 deal. Just a word of advice if anyone is thinking of doing the same - dont just put everything into 1 basket and rely on tesco doing the sums. It works out cheaper to do 2 seperate orders that benefit the 3 for 2 deal better than if just all lumped together.

As a result I have a spare Camaro going if anyone would like it? Will do it for £10. Please PM me your details if interested.

Cheers, just indulged in the Tesco 3 for 2 deal for some Speed Champs stuff for myself.

Still deciding what expensive sets to get to put away, still thinking Slave One and some of the ideas sets, Ecto One is surely going to be a future classic once it goes away (its such a lovely set).

Amazon has cut the price on a number of sets today, presumably in response to the Tesco 3 for 2 offer. The new Speed Champions sets look to be 25% off.

Toys R Us also have the Palace Theatre reduced to £95, and there are apparently two separate £10 coupons doing the rounds which you may be able to stack. May be of interest to those of you into the modulars. I'd be tempted to take a punt myself if I had any room for it. As it is, I've already got to find a home for a half-built UCS B Wing and the Ghostbuster Firehouse. SWMBO is going to go spare if any more Lego appears to clutter up the desk!

Just seen this myself and popped in to post the same.

Got the City Rally Car at the weekend. It's a nice little kit.

ETA: some of the old kits are really reduced. The Porsche GT finish line set is down to £25 and the McLaren Mercedes pit stop to £18. Both are crazy low prices

Had me worried there as I'd just ordered all the new Speed Champions sets from Lego as part of their double VIP points offer. However, saved myself £40 with them that way and whilst there are good savings on the individual cars, the larger SC sets (the new ones that is) have very little off.

Yeah good discount on the original SC sets, I've been wanting to get the Porsche GT cars one since it came out.

So, as the remaining Speed Champion sets are on order and due for collection tomorrow I thought it was best to make something to properly display the collection.

6 small 30cm x 30cm shelves should do the job. Pretty happy with the results, and pretty much all in line (which was surprising!).

Plan is to have the Speed Champions 'sets' on these 6 shelves. I have the 911 Finish Line, American Drag Race, Hot Rod & Ford Raptor and 919 Hybrid on order to fill the remaining shelves. The individual cars will be on display elsewhere.

The larger models, Mini Cooper, Ferarri F40, VW Campervan and F1 Car will be on display elsewhere. Still undecided as what to do with the smaller Shell Lego cars.

Anyway some pictures.

F1 Car (sorry this is technic!)

Mini Cooper, F40 and Campervan

Speed Champions

Ferarri F1 Team and Truck

Mclaren Pits

How did you find the B-Wing, I think it looks like a great model, was it an enjoyable build and how long did it take (my gauge against whether a big set is worth the money)?

I'm about 2/3rds of the way through and so far I reckon I've spent 5-ish hours on it. I've built the central unit, the main long wing and about half of the cockpit section. Just the remainder of the cockpit and the two stubbier wings to do, plus the stand. I reckon it will be 7-8 hours in total.

The build? The central section was a good build, and the cockpit has some interesting bits, especially the mechanism to make it rotate. The long wing was straightforward enough but not especially interesting. it comes in two halves so it's effective the same build twice. I'm guessing that the short wings won't be anything revelatory either.

So far, I'd say that the build for my other UCS set, Red 5, was more interesting. It's probably also a better looking finished display set than the B Wing too, but I'd certainly say the B Wing was worth the £175 I paid for it (second hand, with the box a bit battered but the set is all there - so far!)
