Just a heads-up.

Reserved a couple of discounted Star Wars sets from Toys R Us earlier (no doubt in reaction to Tesco 3 for 2)When I collected, not only were prices cheaper than on the shelf, but they put the two sets through as separate transactions as there are two further promotions in store - spend more than £40 on a Lego set and you get a £10 voucher from Lego AND from the store. So ended up eith 2 vouchers per set equating to a £40 saving on future purchases (voucher valid in April) vs £110 outlay.

I'm about 2/3rds of the way through and so far I reckon I've spent 5-ish hours on it. I've built the central unit, the main long wing and about half of the cockpit section. Just the remainder of the cockpit and the two stubbier wings to do, plus the stand. I reckon it will be 7-8 hours in total.

The build? The central section was a good build, and the cockpit has some interesting bits, especially the mechanism to make it rotate. The long wing was straightforward enough but not especially interesting. it comes in two halves so it's effective the same build twice. I'm guessing that the short wings won't be anything revelatory either.

So far, I'd say that the build for my other UCS set, Red 5, was more interesting. It's probably also a better looking finished display set than the B Wing too, but I'd certainly say the B Wing was worth the £175 I paid for it (second hand, with the box a bit battered but the set is all there - so far!)
Sounds like one to try and get then, though prices are ridiculous at the moment! laugh

Amazon has knocked another £5 off its price for Imperial Shuttle Tydirium, bringing it down to £58.96. I finally bit at that price, even though I have nowhere to put it....

Mines still stacked behind the door from last years Argos 3 for 2.

Unless you need it to complete a set I wouldn't bother, it's by far my least favourite set, and in my opinion the design is very poor. It falls apart if you look at it the wrong way.

I act like a child, does that count?

Anyway, I finally finished rebuilding the Eurofighter today (it's so much easier to build when you're sober!) I think they look much better on the stands.

I've finished the build now and I'd agree that the cockpit section is VERY flimsy. A bit of googling suggests that this is a common complaint.

I'd still say it's a good looking set though, but overall I'd rank it behind Red 5 and Slave 1 in the UCS ships.

Do Lego sell a box/bucket of generic "people" mini figures?

Am not looking for a specific set, just generic bricks etc that my 4yr old can play with to get into the proper Lego thing. We have some classic bricks, but people aren't part of it (understandably I guess) and I don't fancy paying £2.49 each for the "collectable" mini figures smile

http://brickset.com/sets/60134-1/Fun-in-the-Park-C... Is due out this year. Not cheap at £35 though, it does include a wheelchair and hot dog bun though.

You are probably better off buying a number of figures from bricklink, city are often cheap, as are secret agents, you can always buy a range of normal heads to go on chima figures etc as well.

If you can get to a Lego store you make up your own. Oddly there aren't many minifig based sets and they are often expensive. The best 'official' option would be the various starter or smaller sets, some can be quite generous with minifigs.

Ah, noted, I don't need to complete the set of fighters or anything (I only have Slave I), just thought it looked nice and is more unusual than the X-Wing and TIE.

I was counting mine up the other day and stopped at £2k. It doesn't seem expensive but it adds up!

Brickset is bad for this. They don't have prices for lots of my older stuff, but scarily it says £3528 for the stuff I've bought since my dark ages. And I don't have a collection like KapiteinLangzaam or Bipolar Kittens.
