I need some, the black box below the GT3 is the batmobile, but you can't see it with the gloom!

Anyone heading to Bricktastic in Manchester next month?

Raising money for the fairybricks charity.
I really, really wanted to but my kids are away with my ex that weekend. We went last year and it was amazing smile
Why would that stop you? hehe
Exactly, you can look around then just buy what you want without having to spend anything on the kids hehe.

Off tomorrow to set stuff up before the show begins Saturday.
1 day down, one to go.

Already had my eye on the Beetle but I had the unexpected joy of collecting a boxed set on Tuesday and building it yesterday for a photographic assignment.

Enjoyed it as a build. Despite the obvious left/ right symmetry of building a car it doesn't feel that repetitive. There's a few interesting new pieces and some great construction approaches to create aesthetic details too- the rear fender and hubcaps in particular. Found the rear window a bit fiddly to install at first but after removal and refitting it clicked into place more solidly. The set is not that dependent on transfers- just a couple either side to strengthen the look of the pillars- and there's a British number plate option which I went with. On that basis I transposed the dash to RHD.

Sadly I've got to give this one back in a couple of weeks but I'll definitely be buying and rebuilding my own. Might even take my 10242 Mini Cooper off the shelf to disassemble & rebuild in the meantime.

Beetle: ordered!

I've actually boxed and stored all my traditional 1:18 scale models in favour of their Lego friends.

Will get Beetle built at the weekend. Bring on the Caterham!

So i have limited space for my little city. I could put it up in the loft and have any layout i want but then it is not on show. I could use the spare room but then if i have guests it has to come down. So i've gone for my windowsill. It is not very wide but the forced layout of 2x9 road tiles meant i had to get creative with my town layout. I wanted my railway in too but it can take so much space even for a basic look and i do like the train stuff especially complex points and signals.

So i have settled for this

You can see the railway line running along the back of the main road.

Here will be my firestation and very old set the rescue station. I have a huge ammount of fire vehicals so the extra grass area will give them space. The door to the living room actually opens into the gap on the left where there is no tile.

next tiles along and i modified the octan station to be without its extra 1/4 base at the back but it attaches to the road behind it.

I made my own very amateur mcdonalds out of spare blocks. I also will build up the race start set i have as well as put the hot rod corner at the end of the track part on the edge of the corner road unit.

Again loads of police units so they will sit here though i have no station. Also managed to make a siding for the train without taking up too much space as the corner comes arround nicely to become a more countryside part of the town.

My oldest set the monster truck from 1986 i think. It is away on an adventure along with the safari truck. Must be a 4x4 adventure trip or something.

I still have loads to build up and nowhere for my few boats or varies planes and choppers to sit but thats the drawbacks of limited space.

^^^Nice!

I've got that exact same rescue station, with the blue & white vehicles shown, and also that same era of Octan service station. Not assembled mind, but in neatly packed ice-cream containers! Brings back good memories seeing those again!

Anybody know what is the difference between the T1 camper van that was released a couple of years ago and the current version for sale? is it purely the packaging that has changed? The two I have are in larger but narrower box design.

Also for those into Ghostbusters, the new Ecto-1 is £40 on Amazon again today giving you a healthy 20% off LEGO shop prices.

My (sons) Lego is a mess, since I took this pic I've sorted it out of "colours" and into shapes, it is still ridiculously out of hand, I've got a few star wars sets like millenium falcon & kylo rens shuttle still complete upstairs on display which have survived my sons "modifications" but the rest is in bits.

If I moan my wife calls me lord business hehe

Worse still i picked up 75151 & 75140 today, I really need to take over a spare room and display it properly.

I read that the box had been redesigned to incorporate the new Creator Expert logo, but it's otherwise the same set.

My Beetle arrived yesterday, as did the Maze which I'd been meaning to buy but kept forgetting. I don't know when I'll build them; the unbuilt sets are now stacking up a bit.
