I went full retard and bought the ghostbusters fire house as well!
I finished it last weekend, after doing it in fits and starts over the past month. Nice build!Lords knows where it's going to go though. I'm all out of space and SWMBO is already complaining about it cluttering up the dining room while it waits for a home!
Sort of fits in here, but a few of us clubbed together for a wedding present for a mate who loves Ghostbusters and bought him the fire house, this was his reaction (contains some swearing, so probably not work safe)

went full on nerd the other day
Been wanting Ecto-1 for a while and had some cash burning a hole in the pocket whilst passing the lego store the other day so popped in. Last one on the shelf and the sales guy didnt know if they would be restocking this set as the new ones are ready to go apparently
So swiftly bought and taken home. Stopped in ASDA on the way home for some tea and saw the DVD boxset there for £5. so picked that up instead of a pizza!
Toast for tea while building the kit was the order of the evening then
Not a challenging kit by any stretch, but some more clarity of the use of the little clear bits over the chrome/silver ones would be great as I found them very similar looking on the instructions. probably just me tho
The latest version with the female characters to coincide with the GB film has been out for a month or so now. They were (and still are) 20% cheaper on Amazon when I got mine at £40/eachBeen wanting Ecto-1 for a while and had some cash burning a hole in the pocket whilst passing the lego store the other day so popped in. there wasn't any of the new ones in the Cardiff store, perhaps he meant they were out back ready to put on the shelf as opposed to being released?RyanTank said:

Maybe, I was asking what was due to be 'retired' whilst I was at the MK store at weekend they didn't mention the GB stuff, I reckon both the cars and the house will be about for some time. Two year life cycle for the most popular stuff apparently Jader1973 said:
I reported it to the mods.
Seems they also take a dim view of copyright infringement.
Please don't mention the rip-off brand again.
Thanks.
Don't mention LEPIN again? As a public forum where we do have a certain level of free speech, LEPIN will pop up in discussions as LEPIN is a quite on topic discussion currently as it seems they're releasing lots of copies of big LEGO sets. Seems they also take a dim view of copyright infringement.
Please don't mention the rip-off brand again.
Thanks.
Hell even the resident toy shop owner has mentioned LEPIN and has put in an order for a LEPIN Porsche.
Are we now supposed to take a leaf out of Harry Potters book and refer to LEPIN as "he who can't be named"?
Thanks Mike for posting up the photos. Even if we cant name the company, still interesting to hear how you get on with the kits. Shame some people overreacted and got all the other posts deleted, there was some fair points made and it was interesting to read the discussions about those for and against buying non official Lego.

It is a forum owned by a large media organisation. They have rules around mentioning illegal downloads of music, TV, and film. This is exactly the same.
You are publicly supporting criminal activity by supporting that brand. Surely you understand why it should not be mentioned on here?
Please don't mention it again in this forum.

Mike, without causing more problems, can I ask you a quick question about your new sets.
How well do the new blocks fit with other brands of toy bricks ? Just wondering how interchangeable they are.
Also, any chance you could repost the photos without naming the company, cant see the harm in that, its just photos of toy bricks, especially wanted to see the photos of the Campervan as would be interesting for my young daughter.
Shame that such a friendly thread is getting upset, we are all kids at heart here who like to play with our toys, whether they be Lambos, Watches or Plastic Bricks.
Keep posting and keeping us all informed.

Editing any discussion away is really going to show those pesky Chinese counterfeiters isn't it ?
Its not an advert for the product, its not an endorsement its a discussion. The Guy lives in Asia and has bought this stuff from a SHOP. Let Lego and their undoubted army of legals go after this properly and let us look at it and discuss it.
I was curious about it on several levels, one how close to original it was, fit, finish and accuracy. Completeness of kits and colours.
I'm never going to buy any Lepin, its not on my radar to buy replica stuff so its not going to be anything other than a discussion on an internet forum to me.
I dislike the "nothing to see here" attitude and the idea that one person (who has valid points but is being hypersensitive in my opinion) can complain and a few days of decent discussions can vanish.
The main points I took away from the pictures is that the Injection moulds were not quite as good as Lego, there was shrinkage around the injection points, the logos are missing so its an easy spot against real Lego and possibly the edges of the flat plain parts are a little wavy. I now know what to look for in a Chinese fake so thanks Mike !
Deleting discussion will not stop this stuff existing, it wont stop it being sold and it wont stop criminal activity. Discussion on this large website might well raise the profile of the fakes so Lego themselves act on it and make it stop.
Thanks __Mike_ for posting it up, some of us are adults and can look at things objectively without getting all daft and telling tales.

You are not the forum Police.Thanks.
Please don't behave like you are.
FWIW I think you have done the thread a dis-service.
Will the mods stop people discussing Chinese rip-off cars such as Land wind etc that mimic RR and the like? Of course not.
OTT and not needed.
I could see no endorsement or sales pitch, it was (I believe) an honest post regarding something relevant. I feel it broke no laws and it was not in the interests of haymarket for it to be pulled.
