So £600 is likely going to be the price for the Falcon when it arrives then? It's steep, but I think I'll bite.

Going to be an expensive couple of months for Lego purchases, I've already put some cash aside to buy the Ideas Fishing Store when it comes out next week and although I have zero interest in Ninjago, that Ninjago City model looks fantastic. Might have to put that on my Christmas list and be a good boy until then.
The Ninjago ship looks rather lovely too - and the hull is built out of proper Lego rather than big hull pieces.

I have kicked myself for not buying the original MF. I had it in my cart may times when it was out but I couldn't justify the cost.

I now have more money and even less sense than I used to have so I will be getting one as soon as they are available but I will probably wait until I'm off at Christmas to build it.

I know, saw that too... Walked past the Lego shop at lunch and the Ninjago city set is huge. Wife will kill me...

$700 is far too expensive and yes Lego are getting greedy in my opinion. So I'll save a ton of cash and get the Lepin version of the original UCS, that delta between the two is not worth it (Lepin quality isn't that crap), this is a set for investors only.

You could have 4 x Lepin versions for that (I'm half way there) smile

I could, I've nothing against it, but it feels to me like wanting a Caterham, but instead of spending the money you settle for a cheaper knock-off, it would give me 90% of the experience, but each time I'd look at it I'd wish to myself that I'd paid more and got the real thing.

That fishing store, something else I'll have to buy. Is that limited too? Not that it matters now Lepin exists. I still need the detective agency, the bank and assembly square!

Anyone know how long it takes Lego so send out spare parts?

Requested some spares over 2 weeks ago. Don't know how long I should have too wait.

On the plus side if kapiteinlangzaam sells off the collection he will probably be able to pay the mortgage off...

But would it? I have well over 100 Lego sets (boxed) most of which in the £250-300 range. A UCS Falcon would cost me anything from £3.5k-6k - that's just mental.

Personally, I wouldn't (and haven't) buy a set if it was still available, but the prices some collector sets is just nuts.

Do I look at the Lepin Falcon and think 'I wish I'd paid more and got the real thing' - nope. Not at that price spread!

We're talking in this instance about the new UCS falcon though and as it will be available I'd rather pay the extra for a real one than wait for the inevitable Lepin copy. Totally agree about paying way over the odds for retired sets though.

I buckled earlier and bought Ninjago city, looks on most of the kids faces in the shop as I heaved that bad boy onto counter... Really enjoying the build so far, only on bag two. One step involves placing 71 of the same piece down, with a further 59 on the next!
