850 euros here in Holland I believe. That’s insane.
If you know someone in the UK you can order it from the UK Lego store. With the current exchange rate it works out to be around EUR700.
I’m well aware smile I’m trying to persuade the wife it would be a great investment smile (she’s underwhelmed by my powers of persuasion so far but I’ll keep trying)
I might have to marry my girlfriend, she's questioning why I'm only ordering one of them and is trying to organise a trip to Billund as she wants to see the new Lego house/museum they have been building

Refresh lego shop page every morning (that's what I did) or phone the stores. Might be able to tell you when they expect a delivery.

Apparently the new Falcon is on display in a cabinet at Lego store Meadowhall.

Looking at the photo on FB a friend has posted, it looks pretty impressive!

Leicester square has a MF on display, I'll still get one but I was a bit disappointed with the size, I thought it would be bigger.

They had plenty of saturn rockets in though.

He must have tiny arms. It is a big set there's no denying it but compared the ucs star destroyer it just doesn't seem so big. It might be an optical illusion as it was on its own.

When I've built it I'll put my star destroyer together for a proper comparison.

It is big enough that I won't have anywhere to actually put it when it's assembled though so it will only be together for a short time before I have to break it down and put it back in the box.

I avoided the original UCS Falcon as it was just too big, where the hell would I put the thing?! Now even with a Lego room, I'm feeling the same way with the new one, but I'm definitely buying it this time though.

I'm surprised that no enterprising soul has come up with a wall mounting cradle + glass fronted box to mount them in.

Like the whole range of ships in the Star Wars exhibit in Legoland, in fact

Milton Keynes Lego Store had 3 on Saturday.

Also had the new Falcon and the Fisherman's Hut on display, both looked pretty good.

The new falcon is a bit of a rip off at the new price!

I still have my receipt for the original UCS falcon at £349.99 direct from the lego shop so almost double the price is a bit cheeky.

It's like going from a 240p picture to 4k.

Yes, you need to marry her ASAP! laugh
Also, it looks like the UK is the cheapest place at the moment, in the US it's $800 plus local taxes.

Managed to pick up a Saturn V when I was in London a couple of weeks back. It's a great build, but I had a missing piece in bag 1 (10 x 2 plate) that I had to wait to be delivered before I could finish it. It's the first missing piece I've had in 40+ sets, was pretty impressed with the Lego service to get a new piece to me.

Will definitely pick up a UCS Falcon, but I have nowhere in my Lego room for it to go so will have to sacrifice a large piece for it I think.

Does anyone like the fact they have them in labeled bags now? I feel like they've tried to make them easier as half the fun is scrabbling through to find a piece. I empty all the bags into one pile.

That works alright for some of the smaller sets, but taking Ninjago City as an example, there are around 45 bags with typically three bags per stage, that to me provides enough for a good Scrabble each stage. The other thing to bear in mind is that the colour in the manual is often hard to identify with a particular brick and if they've got similar colours they'll often do their best to separate those into different bags, so you might get halfway through a build and realise that grey brick holding everything up should actually be beige and you need that grey brick for something else.

As a purist I open all the bags into a pile on the floor and scrabble through it until the thing Is built.

None of this knolling or separate bags nonsense for me.

Lego is a way to kill time while doing something fun, why make it easier and take less time ?

I've got around 50 sets, ranging from little ones to 1k+ piece technic and star wars sets, when taken apart, as they are now, all go in two big boxes.
Took me about a year to build it all last time.
