Nice! I was given this as a leaving present from work.

I'm planning on building it next week, can't wait to get started.

I may have just ordered the VW Camper from the official Lego website - a lot cheaper than the inflated BIN prices on ebay, plus comes with a Mini Cooper mini model for free (and free delivery!).
Enjoy! My girlfriend treated me to the Mini (and mini Mini) last weekend. I was in no rush and enjoyed a nice relaxed build over 3 nights. Just don't park it too close to the Camper - they aren't to scale smile

Although it's not Technic, this set may be more one for the Technic thread. Since it was raining today I dug a few old sets out of storage in the garage and the first I built was 4958, the Creator remote controlled dinosaur. I'd forgotten how much I originally liked it.

I just used mine a few minutes ago to make sure the batteries still had power and charge up its spines.

ROAR hehe.

Fits nicely in the back of the Unimog, Jurassic park style transport.

I realised I'd left the batteries in mine and it's been stored for at least 5 years. Pleased to say they hadn't leaked and still worked. The spines took no time to charge too.

Not about to rebuild the Unimog to try it myself but that's a nice apt place for it to stand smile

You use the crane to restrain it, looks more realistic as transport then.

It was my youngests 6th birthday a couple of weeks back. On the run up he was getting massively into Star Wars and Lego.

And my "epic 6th birthday present, honest its for me son" came into play. The Millenium Falcon. It is absolutely ruddy brilliant fun. Until his mum sent me a picture of it collapsed after he stepped on it. Hey ho, it went into space dock, Han and Chewy worked on it for a bit and had it good as new, ready for the Kessel run or ferrying idiotic young wannabe Jedis around the universe.

And last friday we popped on over to Legoland at Windsor. And I just had to buy the Ecto 1. Which is a cracking little set, a very well designed/constructed car.
Just arrived home from hospital after having a brain tumour removed....

Not allowed to work for between 4 & 6 weeks so I have some Lego to build to keep me amused.

On the table waiting is the Millenium Falcon, R2D2, the 4 x 4 Crawler & the big crane that I bought in last years group buy & which I have not yet opened.

SWMBO has only seen the Falcon - she can't shout or give me grief because I cannot get stressed!!!

Back of the net!!!!!

Hope it went well and your recovering OK.

Good time to buy more if you run out of LEGO to build.

On that note, anyone getting the Tumbler on Monday when it is released to VIP's?

The Parisian Restaurant may be the next Modular for me, not a big fan of the Town Hall.

Going by pictures in reviews its a pretty big model when complete and comes in a massive box.

I might get one when funds allow but that could be a little while.

At first I had to have it but on reflection, having spent some time looking at the photos I've decided against it. It just looks too much like a pile of black bricks, I imagine some people will use it as a base and make some awesome MOCs to make it look a lot better than it's factory form and that would just make me more bitter that it looks like a brick pile!

I've read of some people buying a few, use the base parts then make it a camouflage version.

FFS.

I have just spent (wasted) over 3 hours building my newly acquired R2D2. Was up to page 77, build going well even though it was (is) a little bit boring when compared to the Technic stuff.

Found out that my fktard stepson (the idiot who picked all of the stickers off my Ferrari F1 lego car) was paying us an unexpected visit.

Knowing that he wouldn't be able to resist prating around with R2 I decided to take him upstairs out of the way.

Should not have done that.

I tripped halfway up the stairs & dropped R2. Lego all over the fking stairs.

So fking angry. Now got to build him up from the start.

bks. bks. bks. bks & more bks.
