Only half a photo report of this built. The very car had a partial respray (the blue bits) in the same paintshop as where the models are sprayed.

So, an internet picture of the base model

Ans in a split second, its painted...

The interior used to be dark red and black, now tan and blue.

In the workshop.

Outside pics.

I know Dragon Racing very well as they are one of our local racing teams.
I'm trying to meet them on an European circuit. Maybe LeMans next year.

Lots of welding has been done on my 1966 MGB. Now the diecast and the real car are just sprayed. Hopefully I can take her out end of the summer.

The owner of this freshly restored 1966 MGB loved to have a model of his car.

Jolly good! That's my car smile

I only had half a model laying around.

Changed the front and rear valance

Found lights, windows, grill, right hand drive dash and seats. And even an engine bay with the B series engine. Most of it from a GT so I couldn't use all parts.

Now still some jobs to do but it start to look like my own car. And that one also needs some finishing to do.

This is the real Alfa Romeo Giulietta (type 116) from 1982 that will be replicated in scale 1:18.

Alfa Romeo Giulietta 116 by Model Car Workshop, on Flickr

A resin curbside model from Laudoracing Models is the base. This is one of the latest Giuliettas.

First the body mods. The pannel with the foglights needs to go.

Then the bumpers are changed. The lower part is positioned more to the inside of the car.

Next the buffers /guards on the bumpers.

And the rubber strip all around.

Bright red AR530 and satin black. Also new Ronal wheels.

The interior with customized front seats, seperate headrests and now RHD.

Together with the base model:

These are from Uli Nowak if I remember well. And, sure I do have problems with some models. Windows can be a real pain. Or wheels.

Plates are easy to make. You can download the fond for the UK plates and then print them on white decal paper.

I do all the artwork for the decals myself. And the decals are made for one car. http://www.precisionlabels.com/ print the decals for me on transparent waterslide decalpaper.

If you want a specific design, please send me an email maarten@modelcarworkshop.nl

They look really great. Nice details. Paint is much better than diecasts. I don't mind that it is a curbside model.

To customize they are a bit harder to change. But to look at they are second to none.

This time a BMW M4 in Azurite Black on Vossen wheels.

The base model is without the "Performance Pack" and on stock wheels. The 1:18 model is from Paragon-Models.

Creating a rear spoiler.

3D designed and printed Vossen wheels. Took ages before I got them. The finish was quite ruf.

Now with a black interior.

OK, I did this Porsche 911 Moscow by Singer Vehicle Design a while ago. It was commisioned as a present for the owner.

First I got this to start with, a nice StarWar style postcard. Made with a colour sample of the body and the leather for the seats.

I found this kit to make the Singer as the AutoArt models are getting very scarce.

This kit is made of a humble Welly Porsche 911 RS.

Testfitting.

Most parts are painted and assambled.

The clear lenses for the headlights I made from teh original ones. Chosing the colours for the decals took a couple of tests.

Just too late for a Xmas present, a Lotus XV from Dubai. Here in LeMans Classic livery.

The base model is a Lotus XI from Spark.

This curbside model is easy to strip.

Regular car filler to build up the new parts.

Sprayed in the same paint as the real car.

The new front window is a bit of a challenge. First one I ever did.

Also added wobbly wheels and a Ductape bucket seat wit roll bar.

Sometimes a regular Porsche 911 / 997 Turbo isn't special enough.

Some skirts and splitters extra?

A rear spoiler and bigf BBS rims?

Maybe a rollcage and big speakers?

Yeah, lets go for that!

Oh, new exhaust as well ofcourse.

Still need to refit the rear wheel. Looks a bit odd like this.
