Based on a Revell and a Fujimi kit (scale 1:24) I made this Mercedes-Benz 500SL (R129).

For privacy reasons no pics of the real car and numberplate.

The start after the body has been painted.

The AMG wheels are from the Fujimi kit.

All chrome decals are custom made. The wooden interior panels are hand painted.

Behind the sceens.

To make the livery I first gather all the decals and draw them in Inkscape. This way I can scale them to the right size.

Then every item is repositioned and colours are grouped in layers. In some cases first a layer of primer and white is printed and later the colours.

Now a coloured layer.

The rear wing / spoiler is 3D printed so first the dimensions are measured for the AutoCad designer.

The video and photo shoot.

Thanks Burnham!

This real Alfa Romeo 75 with a V6 engine is slightly customized. Ready for family outings and trackdays.

The base model is the Turbo Evolution version made by OttO.

The mods:
- custom wheels and rear wing
- front wings or fenders back to original form
- steering from LHD to RHD
- Recaro seats and safety belts
- change front grill to later specs

The original grill and note how the extended wheel arched "flow" into the body.

The extended wheel arches are now "seperated" from the body.

Newly painted body including rear wing

Adding a bit of matt black, chrome and lights

Stance is wrong and disc brakes also have to be changed. At the rear they are mounted next to the diff.

Cutting up the dashboard for flip it around.

Pedals are still on the left hand side.

This is how the Alfa Romeo 75 finally looks:

Based on a photo I made this Porsche 911 Carrera in Ice Green for Gerard Magre, a Dutch diorama builder.

A red 1:18 diecast by Minichamps is the base model.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? ...

This Toyota Crown is converted into a Tokyo Metropolitan Police Car.

The 1:18 base model is a diecast by Paudi. The lights of the Subaru are used for this project.

Creating the bubble on top. Getting the right measurements is difficult from photos but this looks about right.

Masking for the black paint.

I used the same shape on the bonnet as the Subaru has. Slightly different as appears on the photos of the Toyotas. Paudi used a lot of silicone to finish this model. It took quite a bit of effort to repaint this model.

Meanwhile I changed the dashboard from LHD to RHD. First we tried to scan the dashboard, flip it around and 3D print it. Easier said then done. To do it proper would cost far too much. So, an old school solution. Cutting up the dashboard in several parts and refit them in a different order. The police car equipment is used from the Subaru again.

Now, here I put the wipers the wrong way around and the licence plate upside down. Will be changed of course.

Last issues sorted and now she's ready.

This Citroen DS from 1957 entered the Mille Miglia of 2015. The owner wanted to remember this event with a miniature of the car.

Ain't she loverly?

The base model is a diecast by Solido.

Bit fast forward in building the car. Just sprayed in Gris Rose and Turquoise Blue. Now painting matt black for all the rubbers.

Testfitting all the parts. I've changed the bumpers. The Solido model has rubber cushions.

Creating the rear side markers (I have never seen these earlier)

Now the bespoke decals are added. Also the bespoke made rear view mirrors are fitted.

The second one is still under construction

Both ready!

EB Motorsports specialises in Porsche 911 racing parts. Ofcourse they race in a 911 RS themselves.

Based on this Spark model I made a 1:18 replica of this Porsche.

After spraying the body red, many parts need to be painted matt black.

Got the new headlamps from an AutoArt model.

It is an English car so it needs to be a RHD.

Some of the decals.

Lotus owner Colin Chapman bought is Range Rover in 1979.

Via Grand Prix Models I got the request to modify a 1:24 Martoys Range Rover into the ex Colin Chapman car. And I had to stay within budget. Here a photo I found on the Internet:

So colour, lights, stance, wheels and loads of other things differ.

First the colour, Bahama Gold.

Adding black around the windows really helps. Range Rover style element is the floating roof.

I've painted the lights from behind, added half opened windows and decals. But those wheels and the stance. Not included in the budget but I simply had to address this.

Right, found wheels that look much more like the original ones, made lamp guards and a towing hook. Also changed the small chroomed steeringwheel and made headrests.

A transaxle Alfa Romeo specialist wanted one of his cars made in 1:18. It is a modified Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV6 with a 3.5 litre V6 engine.

This 4 cylinder GTV from AutoArt is the base model for this project.

The to do list:
- new body colour (two tone)
- bulge in bonnet
- new custom made wheels
- decals
- dashboard from LHD to RHD
- roll cage
- bucket seats & safety belts
- V6 engine and other engine bay details
- exhaust

Testing wheels (Porsche) but not close enough to the original ones.

These wheels are custom made (3D print).

Cutting up the dashboard to make the change from left to right.

The interior is now black. Trying bucket seats as they need to fit inside and tend to be much bigger than the original seats.

Made a roll cage and fitted the seats and dashboard.

Time to swap this 4 cylinder into a V6.

Started with a 3D printed V6 engine shape and started adding all other components.

Now she's ready to leave the garage.
