For this project two different Minichamps models are used. The yellow GTR for all the racing bits, wings, airvents and wheels. The brown McLaren MP4 12C for the basic shape.

Fitting and resizing the airvents.

The base colours for the 3 cars.

Appling the decals (lots of artwork there to design the decals from photos)

The first one is nearly ready.

Still in the workshop.

Ready to race @ Dubai Autodrome.

I found this on Ebay: http://www.ebay.nl/itm/291799580283

This Porsche 911 could do with a restoration. Almost a "bring a trailer" project car. Yet still in running condition.

At the rear a modified Turbo bumper.

Couple of colours and stripes.

Drawing the stickers/ decals.

Only half a photo report of this built. The very car had a partial respray (the blue bits) in the same paintshop as where the models are sprayed.

So, an internet picture of the base model

Ans in a split second, its painted...

The interior used to be dark red and black, now tan and blue.

In the workshop.

Outside pics.

I'm trying to meet them on an European circuit. Maybe LeMans next year.

Lots of welding has been done on my 1966 MGB. Now the diecast and the real car are just sprayed. Hopefully I can take her out end of the summer.

The owner of this freshly restored 1966 MGB loved to have a model of his car.

Jolly good! That's my car smile

I only had half a model laying around.

Changed the front and rear valance

Found lights, windows, grill, right hand drive dash and seats. And even an engine bay with the B series engine. Most of it from a GT so I couldn't use all parts.

Now still some jobs to do but it start to look like my own car. And that one also needs some finishing to do.

This is the real Alfa Romeo Giulietta (type 116) from 1982 that will be replicated in scale 1:18.

Alfa Romeo Giulietta 116 by Model Car Workshop, on Flickr

A resin curbside model from Laudoracing Models is the base. This is one of the latest Giuliettas.

First the body mods. The pannel with the foglights needs to go.

Then the bumpers are changed. The lower part is positioned more to the inside of the car.

Next the buffers /guards on the bumpers.

And the rubber strip all around.

Bright red AR530 and satin black. Also new Ronal wheels.

The interior with customized front seats, seperate headrests and now RHD.

Together with the base model:

Fantastic work once again MCWS. Where did you find the correct wheels for the car? Do you ever have trouble disassembling or reassembling a model?

These are from Uli Nowak if I remember well. And, sure I do have problems with some models. Windows can be a real pain. Or wheels.

Where do you get the Registration Numbers/Plate and other stickers for models like this ?

Can bespoke stickers be bought ?

Plates are easy to make. You can download the fond for the UK plates and then print them on white decal paper.

I do all the artwork for the decals myself. And the decals are made for one car. http://www.precisionlabels.com/ print the decals for me on transparent waterslide decalpaper.

If you want a specific design, please send me an email maarten@modelcarworkshop.nl

What's the quality of standard Laudoracing models like? I've been tempted by one of their Fiat models for a while, but never seen one in the flesh/metal/plastic.
