I was very tempted, but in the end couldn't quite justify it: Too many models in the stash, and after all it's a huge model to display. I did call my pal though, who apparently ordered one - probably for loft insulation judging by his glacial build times.

If it was £50 I'd have one. If you believe the Amazon figures, less than 50% of their stock was sold at £70, so maybe £50 is do-able in a few months time, maybe from the LHS.

What I'd really like to see in 1:24 is an inter-war biplane like the Hawker Fury or Demon. At that scale, Airfix could give Wingnut Wings a run for their money, and it would be an excellent showcase for fabric/metal surface finishes, plus the dozens of detail features present on an old biplane. I doubt there would be enough customers, but they would be guaranteed at least one sale...
And a corresponding moan about poor surface detail, texture and incorrect shapes etc wink

Its unlikely to be a problem for them at 1:24, or even 1:48, plus I'd only buy one if I knew it was right - the amount of time and money expended on a model like that wouldnt justify taking a punt on an unknown kit.

I think the deal only lasted a couple of hours.

I foolishly thought it was a deal of the day, not a deal of 2 hours!

Got mine delivered over the weekend, thanks for the heads up.

Wont be able to build it for a while so into the stash it goes to join my 1/24 Mosquito.

As an aside have you seen how much the big mossie is going for these days! Watching one on fleabay and its been bid on up to £250 at the moment! Crazy!
