Please move if this isn't in the right place.

If I wanted to spend a few hundred quid on a fun, strong, reliable buggy that can cope with long grass/roughish terrain, what should I be looking at?

Petrol? 1:24? Traxxis- there seems to be a lot of choice

Sounds like an HPI Bullet to me. I just picked one up myself. It's great fun

Mate brought his HPI Savage nitro to work last week - his son had an FTX Carnage brushless LiPo powered buggy as well.

As good as the FTX is being able to jump and spin etc, the HPI being nitro just does it for me! Donuts in the gravel with the engine screaming blowing out blue smoke is much more fun!

New brushless RTR's are around £350, thoug some do appear on eBay. I nearly bough a savage but missed out, bought a Bullet nitro (which Im waiting for) but then got second chance when the first buyer didnt have the cash! wker - as it would have gone for £100!

sorry for the slight thread jack but what would you suggest if you wanted to go brushless (already have the electronics...)?

Small doesn't have to be rubbish off road, but bear in mind that ground clearance is key.

The HPI Mini Recon is a great little 4wd stadium truck which is very good on cut grass and rough terrain, this is a sub-£100 RTR.

Bigger is obviously better, but size comes at a price. Whilst there are sub-£100 1/10 scale buggies / trucks out there, you get what you pay for.
