Lego classic F1 cars
Discussion
Hmmm. Wasnt planning on building a lego model but now seem to have a bricklink profile and a st load of bricks on route to start building the lotus43!
May have got a little carried away in the moment. Didnt realise it was going to be so expensive!
Will post pictures when it starts rolling in.

Wahey! Go alan87! Welcome to hell ! I forgot to mention in my posts that there are a couple of blers that have loads of the bits you need but are very expensive. Keep an eye on price of all bits. Sometimes people have stock of lots of bits at a reasonable price, and then one or 2 bits very dear. Maybe done by mistake with a decimal POINT, or maybe on purpose, but don't get caught out.

Yeah im down to the last 30 "lots" and finding that they are almost as expensive as the other 200 combined. Some stuff is bloody difficult to get. Will be interesting to see how long the bits from Austria & germany take to turn up. Problem is im already planning which one i want next and i havnt even started this one. Ive also just read the model is 50cms long so should look awesome. An official MP4-29 for next year? https://twitter.com/McLarenF1/status/5299824187120...

These have all been listed before, not with pictures though. Not really a fan, it almost has more stickers than parts.

A little off-topic, but I just built the (first Lego model since my childhood) Batman Tumbler.
Sure it took around 13 hours all in. It's an absolute beast of a model!
You should add pictures and stuff here:Sure it took around 13 hours all in. It's an absolute beast of a model!

I like the look of the tumbler and now knowing an approximate build time, I'm quite keen.
Ok so ive now got all but literally a handful of bits. If anyone is sat on 7mm white ribbed pipe please get in contact!!
Experience so far...
Ive had a steep learning curve on bricklink and made a handful of mistakes which have cost me money. I.e. not understanding what i was adding to cart and ending up with the new & used version of a brick on the first few orders! I also didnt learn about the view wanted list by shop until about 50% through ordering parts, so have spent more on postage than i needed to.
Positives.... I love having parcels delivered every day! Especially as lego is so small it fits straight through the letter box and you dont have to go to the sorting office to pick up missed deliveries!
Bricklink is awesome. Takes some time to get your head around but the community is amazing. I have never used a marketplace where the international transactions are so smooth. Ive had bits turn up from Austria, Germany, Usa & Portugal!
Did a few hours of building the other evening and it hit the spot exactly. I wanted something that was challenging enough to keep me engaged but not cause me frustration.
I think the lego bug has bitten and its here to stay.

Its a bit confusing at first. I'm just sorting out all the bits for my store, including full sets and storage bricks and display cases i have over 9000 items in 1785 different lots. Experience so far...

When you go to a store you can click a button that will show you everything they have on your wanted list. Sent my first parcel abroad yesterday (not cheap, almost £15 postage) should arrive soon according to the tracking info.
Just taken a Bennys SSS and milano space rescue set apart, as well as a couple of arctic bases.

Hows it going alan87? Or did you start another thread with all beautiful pics? I'd love to see some!
All done!! Took me a while to track down the last few bits, but it was a good build. I havnt had the stickers made up, but after speaking directly with the chap who designed them ive now got the files, so will do that after xmas.I'll try and uploaf some pictures..
I have also started to get together the pieces for the Lotus49, but an impending house move has meant the lego is on hold for a while.
One thing i would say about the model above, is that quite alot of the detail is hidden behind the bodywork. Mainly the engine, in that it is complete with pistons, inlet trumpets etc but you cannot see them.

wow alan87. Just wow!
that is absolutely stunning, you must be chuffed!
I'll bet it ended up over £165, but worth every penny!
If people think that is a too much money for a lego model, you must remember you are comparing chalk with cheese. I know what alan87 has had to do to get this, and without a huge lego factory and packaging plant behind him, it is a great achievement. I also know what everyone who sees it is going to ask.....
"where can I get one?"
It's not a lego kit, so you cant compare it to one on any level. It's a sculpture. A work of art. The only difference from 20 yrs ago is that the internet has enabled the sharing of designs and provided a marketplace for bricks. if you wanted one of these in 1994 it would cost £000s
