Plus other new tools of Heinkel 111 and Sea King (Commando) - not the huge announcement we were expecting I think.
And the scanning stuff - I thought the Hornby train design team had been using that for years?AFAIC all this new-tool stuff is irrelevant unless they can sort out their production issues.
Here's the result of my visit, got examples of 1:72 US and Japenese Navy aircraft to add to the collection, and finally got a base for the paper boat, so I can get that finished now:
The F6F is Eduard's recent version, a bargain at £10 I reckon. It comes complete with canopy masks, photo etch and all the goodies. The 2013 Tamiya Zero was nearly twice that (although I got a bit of discount for both with the Tiger Moth), but is possibly the best 1:72 kit I've seen; limited edition with 8 marking options, so no after market stuff required for those two.
The Zoukei Mura brushes are awesome (special order form Radu Brinzan), suitable for all paint types, very comfortable to use, and about the finest points I've seen on modelling brushes:
Good to see Perdu again, and his amazing Westland Scout.

ditto doc, always makes the day for me if you pop by
Meeting people-wise this has been an unbelievable SMW
No Kelvin or Eric this year maybe next time
let us know how you get on with those modlels, the Moth is on my "might do-could do list"
The brushes look like serious kit, might replace some of my Maimeri and Daler water colour brushes with some like that
I WAS NOT going to spend any money so I wonder where nearly fifty quid went?
Perplexing huh?
Airfix Scout (OK I know but it was only a quid)
Matchbox Buccaneer and Chinook £14 the pair
Airfix Hawk
Some detailing wires of thicknesses I don't have
Thin masking tape in a couple of widths
and the Airfix Calendar
I saw much of Freightdog's masters for the incoming Wasp AND some early shots of the Scout that is coming down the line
Nice engine, might save me rolling my own next time around
But fifty quid spent? unreal
I must have blagged some thing else but a megamind fa.. might be hiding the facts from me

Bit of a busy time of year for me, Bill, so difficult to find the time, all the modelling is of the larger variety, 2 x 1.5x scale Effigies and a 12 foot severed head on spike this year. Not much time for the small stuff, but I'm sure I'll get there eventually!

According to some recent media reports, you'd think I was.I'm from Lewes.
(ETA: Just to be clear, I didn't have a hand in the two Tableaux that upset people so much, before I start getting death threats as well!)

Just back this afternoon.
I was there for the whole weekend - spending most of my time manning the NASA Special Interest Group stand as the chap who normally runs this was unable to attend due to ill health. Really enjoyed the show - as ever.
Absolutely thrilled with the announcements from Airfix. The sprue shots of their upcoming Swift look absolutely gorgeous.
I am sure I didn't get to see half of what was there.

The first time the hornby trains guys used 3d scanning was at the end of last year, our first subject was the heinkel which we scanned in January this year. We have found someone who understands the products and works to a favourable price, in the past the investment required was just too high.

It looked worthwhile from the talk in the lecture room Matt, great model that Commando, I'm in for that and the DefiantI suppose that was you in the centre with the screen to your right?
Did you know that the Boulton and Paul society has a wealth of data for the Defiant Matt?
The archive keeper gave me the impression that no-one had asked about it, was he right?
Anyway, I'm glad I got the guess partly right. I thought Defiant but got the scale wrong
I bought a few models too - mostly 1/72
Airfix Lunar Module (in a 1980s box)
Hasegawa F4U Corsair (Birdcage box twin pack - for less than 1/2 price)
Belcher Bits - Douglas Thor Missile ( a resin kit - my most exotic purchase)
Sword - Lightning F1
Airfix - old mould Lightning F1 (I will mount this on a stand as a flying model - like I did with the old mould Frog Vampire and old moul;d Airfix Gnat)
Special Hobby - Hispano Buchon in Battle of Britain film markings
Matchbox - Monty's Caravan (1/76)
In 1/144 scale
Revell - Shuttle Orbiter without boosters and tanks. I think I'll build this as a rendition of Columbia siting on the desert floor after its first flight. You hardly ever see models of Shuttles siting on their undercarriage
I spent far more on books than I did on models. I bought the three new Warpaints on the Avro York, the F-84 Thunderstreak/Thunderflash and the F3H Demon as well as Eric Brown's "Wings of the Navy" - plus some others.
