I think I've found my dream RC truck! I have always wanted a good RC defender since I was a kid.

Anyone got one of these?

Very good reviews and very customisable. Bloody expensive though, as it still needs a motor and all the RC equipment. Seems to be a couple of UK stockists at around £450, few quick sums suggest it may be cheaper to import, even with duty tax.

The only bit I would worry about is making a hash job of the bodyshell / interior painting.

Get signed up on Scalerc.co.uk - free forum.

They are UK-based so there's a lot less confusing / conflicting information and many people own these trucks. In fact, there are several 'build threads' on there both currently in progress and completed.

I've always wanted one; they are the 'daddy' in my opinion, but I don't have the initial outlay.

You need to allow another £100-150 for decent electronics on top - unless you already have surplus you can use.

I've just bought one on ebay from the U.S.,just paid the vat and an £8 clearance fee

It worked out at about £370 delivered which is about £100 less than UK price but it seems to have taken forever , over 2 weeks

I should have got Forrest Gump to deliver it, he could have run here in less time

The £230 is just for the chassis , by the time you've added the body and VAT it'll be the same price

Thanks for the link though, the accessories look good value
