Schumacher Club 10
Discussion
The picture you posted of the purple chassis car is of a Cougar 2 Works, which does have a belt driven transmission and a slipper clutch. As you say, the club 10 has a geared transmission which is a safe bet for more power but the lack of slipper isn't ideal. That being said, as long as you don't add silly power and be careful when spinning backwards, then it should be fine.
Shocks are poor compared to today's items. If you can get some modern big bore shocks they will be better and crucially won't leak!
I've raced a Cougar 2 (belt and slipper) with 8.5T brushless with no problem. It actually jumps better than my modern day SV2.
Have fun!

What do you want to do with it?
To be honest you are probably better off buying a new kit from the start, I doubt club 10 spares are easy to get hold of now.
Modelsport has loads of stuff at all levels of pricing. It's amazing how much the hobby has come on in the last 20 years.

Will only be a bit of fun round a car park etc, not interested in racing it. I have a huge pile of spares so thats not a problem. All the 7.2v nicads I have a shot, so new batteries are in order. So do I just get a couple of standard nicads or bring it up to 2015 with brushless motors etc.
