Just a heads-up that Lidl are doing a special offer on various 1:24th and 1:25th car and 1:144th airliners. Inevitably they are bundled with useless paints, but the brush and glue may be useful. If I'm passing I might grab a VW Golf to go with my 1:24 Routemaster.

The cars are £11:99, rrp £24:99 (more usually £19:99 though):

Airliners rrp is £17:99 (£13:50 and £9:50 at Hannants so less of a good deal)

The Air Berlin 737 builds into a nice model, but beware the Carrera RS, it's ancient. The odd 1:25 scale should ring alarm bells...

Great stuff. Mrs S has sent me to the local LiDL for Tim foil so I'll try & pick one of the car kits up.

How bad is the Porsche model? I've got a couple of Corvette Revell kits in 1:25 (the C5R snd C6R) and they are great. In fact the older C5R is probably better, at least more complex anyway. This is of course in my opinion, and I am not a very experienced modeller.

I don't think they are available until Monday by the way Strummerville.

Thanks! Just been for Mrs S's tinfoil and there were no models. Not even tall slim blonde ones...

I'm now a Ferrari California and Porsche 911 owner! Just need to head down the rabbit hole to fit inside them.

And now I have a Golf GTI to go with my Routemaster bus. Of course it has already gone from a straight OOB build to "well I'll get a rattle can from Halfords, and maybe check the forums to accurise it a bit".

I did that for the Porsche. Now I hardly dare open the box in case Pinhead visits.

The one in Warwick still had some left today. No Golf and only one of the airliners i seem to recall.

That's three of us with the Porsche kit - anyone up for a group build?

I'm afraid I'm unlikely to start my Porsche for a while. I've only just got back into modelling, so it's going quite slowly, and more of a winter hobby for me.
