An aerial video of what? It also depends on the video quality you want as to what's achievable in that price range. A few more details would be helpful.

With that amount of info id say no. If you want to spend £200 you'd be better off trying to pay somebody who has the kit to do it for you!!

I don't know what you mean by decent, but £200 will only just cover a half decent camera (gopro).

I spent about £700 all in on a DJI F450, add a camera and then you need to be able to fly the thing well to get a good vid...

Also, bear in mind that if your video is for any sort of commercial purpose, the drone MUST be operated by a CAA certified and insured pilot. Regardless of the requirement (commercial or private) the flight must be conducted within the rules laid down by CAA CAP 393, Articles 166 & 167. (link below)

http://www.caa.co.uk/default.aspx?catid=1995&p...

As someone with a fair bit experience in this field you get what you pay for. A drone with a camera is not enough on it's own. If you want anything remotely decent looking you need to add in a gyro stabilised brushless gimbal, otherwise your footage will be very juddery!

To give you an idea, I started with a DJI Phantom 1 (£350) + a cheap Chinese Gimbal (£100) + GoPro Hero 3 Black (£365), so £815 which gives approx. 7 mins of flying time and no real time imagery (so you guess your footage).

I now commercially operate a broadcast quality system, a total of £8500 in the sky on any given flight, and a £12000 investment as a going concern.

If it's a one off, it might be easier to buy in the services of a pro. There's plenty of us out there.

I hope that helps.

Yup my DJI F450 set up with cheap gimbal come out at £700-800 all in.

The footage, whilst good for at home stuff still isn't perfect.

If it's a one off I'd pay somebody else. Just popping it up in the sky for a vid isn't as easy as you'd think....

thanks for the info chaps, seems 200 is a tad low, its not commercial but for a small hamlet we're renovating in France, which is impossible to capture in one photo.

pretty ok with a couple of joysticks as i used to race and can operate a 5ch heli without crashing smile

been offered a seconhand dji phantom II + fpv for £500 which looks a decent price looking at flea, can a gyro be added to this? as it sounds like something i'd want for a smooth flow.

whenever i set out to get something new it always costs double what i expected, not going to £8k tho eek

I imagine a Phantom 2 will have the gimbal on it. Sounds like a good price for one of those, especially if a spare battery (or 2)is included.

If you have any details of what you've been offered I'd be happy to look it over for you.

If you've flown a 5ch Heli you'll have no issues whatsoever. You might even venture in Manual mode just for more of a challenge!!

Haha, good luck. I've got a P3 on order due to the video.

However, it might mean that a lot of P2's will come on the market second hand in the next few weeks.

I'm liking the look of the Solo from 3D Robotics. Converted price is about £1400 all in.

Get a Phantom 2 Vision plus...they have sales on every now and then, I saw them for just over £600 brand new not long ago. If you are buying brand new make sure to get the latest V3 one.

I've got one, they are an awesome piece of kit ready to go straight out the box - 3 axis gimble, HD camera etc.

Definitely read all the instructions and make sure you understand and follow the procedures for acquiring satellites and home position etc!

As mentioned with the Phantom 3 coming out a lot will be going up for sale
