1/72 Lockheed U-2R / TR-1A (Special Hobby)

I was inspired to put a few photos of my U-2R on here. Thanks Eric Mc!
This is the first kit I have attempted in probably more than 15 years. In fact it was in a state of partial build for all of those years.
It's not an easy kit actually, with all the joints being butt joint, hence you should see the mods I made to provide better support for the wing, below. It does however build into a very attractive model in my opinion, and the surface detail and panel lines look super.
Anyway, it's not a perfectly faithful reproduction (think I need more practise, and to learn a few new skills), but I am really enjoying looking at the finished article. I'm still learning a bit about how to photograph my models too.
My Dad was keen to build one of these too, and he has recently managed to find the later Special Hobby U-2S/ER-2 kit. He plans to build the U-2S, not the NASA white ER-2.
