Just slight O/T but does anyone remember the TV prog on discovery? where the present was into models of a 'larger'size
There was the humungous C17 jet powered monster, but the one that took my fancy was a model of HMS Fearless
This could drop the rear and flood the afterdeck. On the prog they did this and out of the back came a landing craft, which made it to the 'beach' dropped its front and a r/c tank rolled ot a fired off a round. If it on youtube it is worth watching

There is an even bigger option...

The 1/4 scale tanks from Mark 1 Tanks

They do a Tiger 1 in 1/4 but if that's not quite big enough, there is the King Tiger in 1/4! ("over 6' long in the body, by 38” wide, 8’ long with gun, this IS the largest RC Tank currently available to buy in the world. All up weight around 250kgs, powered by 2 x 500w 24v motors using our HKMAS drive system")

King Tiger

No prices on the 1/4 Tigers but the 1/6 versions are £3k ish

The Mark 1 tanks are a lot lower quality than the Armortek ones to be frank. A lot lower.

Thanks for that link I thought I was going crazy as I was sure armotek were a local company but saw they weren't. It's because it's Mark 1 tanks that are local.

Have to say my allegiance is with Armortek. sure they have issues but am hoping the new Tger 131 release will have problems ironed out. trouble is, the aftermarket part shopping list is getting big....i found a guy who sells the hl210 engine to slot in the correct hole which you can rig up to operate the fans either side...i didn't even know i needed them...thats $2000 though...

Hate to have to tell you, looks like this guy was working on a bigger toy than you; seems he right up to making the tracks before his wife found out how much it was costing!

I'd divorce if that's true!

Having said that, now I'm divorced I've bought a tank so maybe he did it the wrong way round?

Here is my Armortek Panzer 4 Ausf H which is currently in an 'Operation Cobra' theme. Lovely tanks, are you going to Bovington in February to the tank display loads of Armortek tanks there including mine. I have the two animatronic figures moving the commander raises his Binoculars and looks around and the General is on the phone with it moving up to his ear etc

I didn't build it but bought it secondhand, the guy who did build it did a lovely job on the side skirts (can't remember the german name for them) etc. Although I did have to get a local electronics expert from the Armortek forum to sort out a few issues. Did a very good job and now have it all up and running nicely and with the proportional smoke, recoil and gun flash plus loads of other sound effects is a rather pleasing thing to use.

Very nearly bought a lovely secondhand Armortek Centurian which I was planning to run on the Yom Kippur theme but by the time I'd have bought a couple of IDF figures and got them animated then getting it re-painted in authentic desert colours etc it was working out at nearly £8K for the whole package so decided not to.

As I mentioned there is a fairly large meeting at the Bovington Tank Museum in February where there should be loads of Armortek tanks attending as well as the chance to see the recent Tiger Elefant on display.

It's no good unless it has a proper V12 on board.
