Has anyone seen an available model of the Junkers G38?
There was a Revell model, but it is discontinued.
The K-51 or Japanese Mitsubishi Ki-20 derivative would be OK.

I saw it on the film "The Wind Rises", and couldn't believe it was real (never mind actually flew) until an online search confirmed it.

There is a Revell G38 in 1/144 scale on ebay at the minute, what scale were you looking for?

Thanks, I'd looked on Amazon but not eBay.

Box is a bit squished, the description is wrong (a 1/48 Ferrari Helicopter??) and I'm wary of Revell's 1/144 after two tricky MicroWings builds. Revell are very hit and miss in quality.

I'll hang around to see if anyone can turn up an alternative (or say the Revell kit is a good one).

1/144 is a good scale for me as my workbench space is limited. These were big - apparently you could walk down the wing inside the main spar.

The Revell kit is quite nice. You'll need to source Swastikas for the tail fins.

There have been some 1/72 kits made, but only in resin, and all of the manufacturers seem to have disappeared. Here's a link with some pictures, in Russian.

Best thing to do is simply type "Revell Junkers G38 Review" into Google and see what you get. If you click in "Images" and even the best one is a disaster, chances are it's a poor kit...if not, buy it.

There is a review here, with some shots of the kit including decals and instructions:

The review is in German but is generally favourable, the weaknesses being the reviewer's view that the fuselage needs strengthening added in places.

Edited to add - you'll need some 1/144 swastikas to complete.
