Hi,

I know its not scale model, sorry, but I didn't know where to put it.

My twins would like a radio controlled car / truck / buggy each for Christmas. Needs to be tough and slow enough for them to control / not injure anyone / not build up enough speed to smash itself to pieces. The ability to limit speed would be nice so that speed could be increased as they get a little older and more proficient. Would ideally be able to cope outdoors on lawn etc and inside and cost less than £40 each. Also mustn't interfere with each other (whats the point in having 2 if you can't race?)

Entirely toy – if they want a proper one they can have it when they are older.

Thanks

I'm after something similar.

It needs to be cheap but quick enough over carpets (always find R/C stuff struggles over carpets!) but so no quick that it'll injure the cats or put a whole in the walls.

Dave.

2nd the Carrera option - albeit this later design which comes in different colours and frequencies for dual-running.

Free shipping too, what more could you need!

You'll struggle at this price point to find anything which will tackle anything but freshly cut short grass, or be capable of being upgraded or limited in speed.

Later this year Tamiya are releasing a new line of RC chassis designed for younger generations - the Star Unit series. It will almost certainly be more than £40, but promises to be a quality unit rather than a toy. Upgrades will be possible and the radio gear included will likely be transferable to a hobby-grade model.
