Nice little track looks like it flows well.
I presume you were referring to mine there? Thanks, it's one of the alternative layouts for the Trackday set. It's good fun. It could do with a longer straight or two. This is slowly being addressed.
The Mini got its new rear boots last night. Laptime down to 3.070

I've added some new cars to my very small collection.
The Diablo needs a fair bit of work. And painting metallic purple To bring it up to scratch.
I had intended to mod one of the M3's to be as close to road spec as possible and paint it Estoril Blue to match my car. But when they arrived the cars are unused and it looks to be a lot more work then I thought it would be. So one of them will be painted EB with some carbon details and both left as GTRs. I think I'll paint the white on. I only paid £18 for it with I consider decent value.

Been up in the parents loft today to dig out my old set. It's "Mighty Metros" amongst other things! Also have a few random bits I picked up at a car boot sale which is even older! Hoping to get it all back in working order. I did manage to get the wheels spinning on the Metros but unfortunately couldn't get any movement because the tyres have hardened like concrete!
Where's the best place to go for spares?
OMG I got this set for my 6th birthday (1989)! Mighty Metro! I remember removing the bumper trim because I thought it made the cars look cooler...Where's the best place to go for spares?
A friend and i got bored one day in 2004 and we both strapped his old nokia phone to one of the cars. Go Pro wasn't around in those days...

I am not too up on this kind of thing and really only just getting back into it as my son starts to but I have a couple of questions.
1. We have a digital set up and after a bit of use (30 mins) the light on the power pack suddenly starts flashing and the cars no longer work. Have we got a broken power pack or what is causing this?
2. Can you make digital cars faster and if so how? engine changes? cog changes?
I would be glad of any advice please, thanks in advance.

Used to have an outdoor six lane 24 hour race every June the weekend after Le Man's in the early eighties. Built our own lap counters. Circuit was Le Mand from the late 70s. When the dew came down in the late evening, it necessitated a change to grooved tyres as the slicks became too slippy. Circuit was 34 feet end to end. Happy days.
I had a load of track in the loft dating back to the 70s, but it didn't work reliably, so a couple of years back me and a mate (who has a large spare room) took the plunge and bought a load of new digital track and a few new cars on eBay. Tried a few layouts, with long straights very much the order of the day given the speed the cars travel at....
I remember my dad buying the Mini Banger Racing set in the original Morrisons in Bradford. Used it so much and eventually both cars died after too many crashes. The set cost a whole £12 new around 1983, was in a sale.
This thread had me on Ebay and I've just bought Mini Ha-Ha, just the Mad Hatter to go
Also had the F1 set with the 6 wheeled Tyrell and JP Lotus, lost a long time ago

Getting into 1/24th Production Saloon and 1/32 INTRO32 and picking up all sorts of weird kit. It's all a bit alien compared to what I'm used to from plastic chassis cars.
Here's my new Turboflex!
This is a 2nd hand car concocted from some spare parts, it'll be enough to get me going and when I'm fast enough to upgrade someone else should be upgrading their own chassis to the latest and greatest
This weekend I'll be flying to Holland to race in a 6 hour digital race on SRC Eindhoven's recreation of Suzuka. I'm packing my bags tonight!

I haven't set my track up for years but I continue to buy the cars. The models are really good now. Every year there are a few that I "need". Latest are the Sierra Cosworths, E30 M3's and the Rothmans MKII. Looks like Scalextric are releasing a Stratos this year as well. Fingers crossed it's in Alitalia livery to partner my 131. A couple of pics:

I had a pretty decent setup growing up. Based in the loft the floor was boarded and the back straight ran the length of the house. I seem to remember having to add another power supply? Anyway years later the whole bundle was given away, I wasn't impressed at all!
What I remember kit wise;
Think Tank
Fuel Tank - useless that was!
Noise thing
Pit timer
Cars (all 70's and 80's)
Pair of sidecars, the most bd things to drive
Pair of Mini's, top heavy things but fun
Martini 911, about the fastest
Pair of 911's with headlights
Pair of Escorts with headlights
March 6 wheeler, my favourite
Capri
Various 70's F1 (JPS lotus, Ferrari, Ligier, Williams TAG)
TR7
BMW CSL
I had lap times for everything in 'the book', very serious stuff!
Tempted to build one after seeing this thread.
